Quit sugar coating the hard truth! God hated Esau period. He didn't "love him less" or else the bible would have said that. God loving Jacob and God hating Esau had NOTHING to do with what they did. It's solely based on election. Not according to works. Solely based on God's mercy, grace and plan. This is just 1 of many hard truths in the bible. God isn't hiding it.

God hated the violence and rebellion of Esau and his descendents. He still does. God also hates evil practices of the Egyptians, Romans, Canninites and Phonecians. I think burning or sexually abusing children alive for Baal is worthy of God's wrath, don't you? These wicked groups still operate today and sit next to you at church. If people do not repent from their wicked ways, God will destroy them. That is a promise. He doesn't get joy or satisfaction from that either. God desires all people to be saved. But God will not put up with liars or frauds and He will pour out His wrath on full to those who unmercifully deceive and hurt his children. Just as he did to Sodom and to Tyre and Babylon.

Does He not hate the fraudulence Rebekah insisted to Jacob? Does the story tell it is alright to proactively take advantage of unripe potentials and take it for themselves? Isaac, the father of Esau and Jacob, was supposed to bless Esau but Jacob seized the opportunity to take that blessing. Does Esau not have the right to feel betrayed?

He favor Jacob who is a fraud himself, influenced by his mother Rebekah who practiced such strong favoritism. It does not sit right to me that Esau gets all the hate when he was the victim of such sin. @SydSquid856
@SydSquid856 2 жыл бұрын
God is the only thing that can truly fulfill us, none of us want God. It’s the Lord who wants and pursues us until we either completely reject or entirely accept Him. After acceptance of His TRUTH by way of FAITH the Lord is the one who then transforms us through the gift of the Holy Spirit in order to bring out love from within us. For there is nothing good in anyone who is in sin (the flesh, the old man before salvation) (Romans 7:18), but for the saints there is no condemnation (Romans 8:1). The reason God loved Jacob was because Jacob was willing to learn to love and want God. And that is still how salvation is achieved to this day :) hope this helps!

I’m sorry brother, this didn’t really explain anything - and most pastors or spiritual leaders will not talk about this because if they are Caucasian it places them in a box and quite frankly most pastors aren’t preaching the true word of God, they are light heartedly preaching on the feel good - safe - ethnicity appropriate stuff. I’m just gonna say this point blank. Esau is representation of the Caucasian race, Jacob is representation of the Black race “this is absolute fact”. Esau sold his grace to Jacob because Esau was conniving and basically didn’t care. Jacob has now the grace of God at the end. You’re probably saying in your head “ Look how black People are treated, does this look like God’s grace?” And you would be absolutely right. Allow me to explain. There is a covenant in the Bible that black ancestors went into and ended up breaking this covenant, we have been been cursed by God also in Scripture that we would fulfill these curses until Esau‘s time had come… if you carefully review the curses, you’ll see that they fit the African-American/Black heritage quite frankly to the T. We are coming to a time where more and more Black people are waking up & understanding this furthermore fulfilling prophecy, in the very near future the world is going to see something very terrible for Esau‘s lineage and everyone included that have the spirit of Esau within them, I’ll just be frank with this - It is not going to end up well for Esaus lineage - and I assure you every one of Gods prophecies in the Bible have come true and this one will too. The blind, the proud, the hateful, the willfully ignorant will read this and scoff at it and call me a heretic. The wise will look into scripture, do the proper research and prepare themselves and their family to stand in front of God.

What most of you blubbering sapheads fail to recognize is that Esau and Jacob were TWINS…and all humanity did not descend from them. There were quite a few other inhabitants on earth when they were born. It is easy for racists to jump on Romans 9:13 and build an exclusive doctrine that rejects those they deem “unworthy” of salvation. The Bible is clear that God is no respecter of persons. Romans 9:11 sheds some light on Romans 9:13. In that time and culture, the firstborn had rights and privileges the other siblings did not have. Esau did not value his birthright, selling it for a bowl of soup, basically. The blessing was stolen by a lying, cheating, deceiving Jacob. But God recognized Jacob as the firstborn, even though he was most certainly not the firstborn. “That the purpose of God according to election might stand”. Just as God called Jacob the firstborn, though he was not, He calls us righteous, though we are not. Christ tasted death for every man, so that “whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life”.

The reason why (false) teachers and preachers rarely broach the subject of Esau is because he is "the jew" and their (false) doctrines are based on Esau being "the chosen people", to the detriment of all believers in Christ who fall for that deception. The black man is Ham/Canaan.

Why are you trying to put words into God's mouth? Do you really think that the God who created words does not know the true meaning of "hate" and "love"? God hated Esau because this was necessary for his salvation plan for the human race to be fulfilled. Our understanding of the spiritual battles between God and Satan are so limited that we fail to understand that these battles are often fought through people so they can ultimately be realized in the spirit realm. Let us trust that God knows exactly what he is doing....because of course he does....and we dont.

Why do you deny free will? And, if God gives love why cannot God give hate? That hate created more love than without it having happened. Without that hate there would be no reconciliation with Jacob. Without pain there is no joy. Do you want authentic living or a robotic painless existence, God cannot stop the will of people, but he uses it all. The means to the end.

The term hate does not mean the same back then as we use it today. The 10 commandments says to honor your mother and father. well Jesus said if you do not hate your mother or father, you can not be my disciple. Now was Jesus saying to break a commandment. No. Hate back then meant to choose one over the other. Back then the first born always was chosen first. But God, changed things up and chose the younger over the other for the lineage to come through. God had to chose one lineage, Jesus couldn't come through both, so God being sovereign, having the final say, went against what the Israelites would have done. It didn't mean that God hated Esau and sent him to hell. No where does it say that. Yes Esau realized his mistake and he did plead for his birthright back but that was not for salvation. He simply wanted his inheritance as the first born.

Probably Messiah said, "if you love anyone more than me, you are not worthy". The real point is, can you stay on the narrow path and get through the straight gate, in spite of the fact that the world will hate and kill you and that your flesh will be left on the gate? Messiah never said to break a commandment. Don´t forget, He also said that in the last days families would deliver each other up to be killed. This is the context. Esau did not receive the birthright from God (Genesis 25.23), and he did receive a blessing in the end. And he is dwelling in the tents of Shem, perpetrating identity theft upon Jacob-Israel, the northern white European. Esau crucified Christ. Please read the Bible and interpret it line upon line, precept upon precept, here a little there a little. Otherwise you just cause confusion.

The Jacob and Esau story is not a salvation issue. I wouldn't read salvation into it- it will only cause you to question God's benevolence. The son of God could only come through one nation, one family line, one brother. The seed of the savior couldn't come through Jacob and esau both. So the one through whom the covenant would continue was the preferred or "loved" son, the other, less preferred, not chosen, was "hated." Praise God the new covenant is made available to whosoever will believe. But in the creation of this new covenant, God in his infinite goodness and wisdom had to set apart a nation for himself, which by default meant "rejection" or "hatred" (same root word in the Hebrew) of those not chosen. Praise God for his mercy though. We can see throughout the old testament that he gives opportunities to repent, even to His enemies. He sent the prophet Jonah to call the Ninehvites to repentance- a most hateful and cruel nation that oppressed Gods own people! He gave them an opportunity to repent, because he is "gracious and compassionate, slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and relenting of evil." (Joel 2:13).

I find it amazing that people try to minimize what God Almighty, the Creator of the universe, has declared. Why is it so hard to believe that God would HATE Esau and LOVE Jacob? I do not understand why that should be difficult to understand? Did God not create Judas Iscariot? Of course he did. But the Bible tells us that Judas was created for destruction in the same way God created Pharaoh for destruction. Why should that be difficult to understand? Did God not create evil? Yet God will destroy the devil in the lake of fire, the same devil whom God created? Why do we struggle with things which are beyond our capacity to understand as human beings? God is the immortal being who has full understanding. We are mortals with very limited understanding. How about leaving it there and believing that God knows best!!!

The problem is gods arbitrary condemnation of people to hell. John 3:16 can just get thrown out the window. The ultimate result was bad for Esaus whole lineage and himself. God made him for condemnation essentially. The biggest issue with this is no definitive answer can be made. Some call it tension, I call it contradiction. This one verse changes the character of god in a contemporary sense. It just doesn't match the god the church has been selling. I renounced christianity because of this. Once you really tangle with this one, the rest of scripture falls apart. It becomes impossible to have a consistent view of god with out ignoring tons of Scripture and historical theology. Election, predestination, determinism, etc, it's all the same. I wonder what Issac though about god condemning Esau before he was born? What kind of father was he and is god? He's just not. If he's real, he's a crazy and cruel master.

I can pretend to fully understand this verse, but why would you turn from the creator of the universe because of one verse that you don't understand? Jesus loves you and died for you, don't abandon him so easily, because he will grant you eternal life.

@@samuelfakelastname7464 It's a direct contradiction to the christian war cry of John 3:16. If you want to understand it, i can save you time- it doesn't. There are tons of other problems and contradictions all over the place in the bible. I know the bible (Paul in the NT) says not to split hairs on disputable matters, but this is different than baptism or really any other doctrine that seperates denominations. Reformed theology (Calvinism basically) directly contradicts other denomintions who allow free will somehow. In my eyes, these are different gospels. Calvinists and Armenians don't serve the same god. To say otherwise means you really need to read more about it. I recommend starting with Jonathan Edwards in Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God (famous revival preacher from early America). It's not the same god we have today. It gets worse the further you go back. Also, don't mistake you not understanding it from thinking it's a contradiction. Lastly, look up miso (Hebrew and Greek). It's the word for hate when translated. Just remember that there is a big difference between not understanding and not wanting to call it what it is- textual contradiction. In 40 years of church, god never showed for me. He neither gave me peace when I sought it nor alleviated the confusion verses like this caused me. The biggest witness against Christ for me is that it never made a difference if I prayed or not. Please also don't assume it was just some sin in my life cause that's true of everyone.
