I still don't understand how we can sacrifice something what doesn't belong to us! You wanna sacrifice - grate, give your own life, just like Jesus. But I don't understand taking life from innocent animals. I'm trying to learn the bible, and so far I just hate old testament.

We can not sacrifice ourselves because we are tainted with sin God would not accept us . That is why Jesus came because he is free of sin so he was the perfect sacrifice. Animals sacrifices only covered sins they did not take them away Hebrews 10:4. God performed the first sacrifice in Genesis when Adam and Eve sinned he covered them with animal skins. This did not take away their sins it only covered them it was a temporary thing. That is why we needed a messiah to cleanse us completely . Jesus took away our sins completely we are under the new covenant Hebrews 9:15 . For the wages of sin is death (Romans 6:23) God showed his people the consequences of sin the severity and that a sacrifice had to be made in order to approach him hence animals sacrifices. Jesus died for us so that we could have a relationship with the father . John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. God is merciful that is why he would send his only son to save us so that we would not perish but have everlasting life. He created the first humans in a beautiful Garden with everything they every needed . They had to obey one rule to not eat from the tree of good and evil and Satan deceived them. That is why everyone is born of sin because Adam and Eve sinned the devil deceived. God is merciful I pray that people will begin to understand his mercy .

@@heartsforgod2092 Doesn't answer the point of how/why taking an innocent life somehow eradicates/reduces the 'sin' of a believer! The message in the first testament is this: Have you done something sinful that you deserve to be punished for? (believer nods yes) Wanna know how to quickly wash away that sin and escape the punishment? (believer again nods yes) Well, here's what you do: you go get an innocent lifeform that has done nothing wrong to anyone and is deserving of no punishment whatsoever and then *KILL* it!!! Pointless and barbaric! No wonder the writers of the second testament did away with it!

Vegetarians still survive. God created chickens 🐓🐔 so we can get eggs out of it. Animals have a right to live as we're. Think about it.
@summerskye9783
@summerskye9783 4 жыл бұрын
Animals aren’t production units or machines for us to use. That mindset is the reason chickens have been bred to produce 300 eggs per year instead of the 12-17 in the wild which is very damaging to their health. Also, every egg laying chicken will be sent to the meat industry to be slaughtered once their egg production declines. In the egg industry the males that hatch are useless because they don’t lay eggs and don’t grow fast like the chickens bred for meat, so as soon as they are born they are thrown into a macerator and blended up alive. Vegetarian is not enough for the animals who deserve total liberation from human oppression and exploitation. Vegan is the only way to actually show basic decency and respect for animals lives and their bodily autonomy.

Making personal sacrifices to God for sin is fine but it ceases to be personal when you involve an innocent animal into it. Jesus personally chose to sacrifice himself, those animals did not. You can sacrifice your time, money, belongings, food, but don’t take someone else’s life into it so you can be devoted to God. And sacrificing animals, chopping them into pieces so we can eat their bodies is completely cruel, selfish, unnecessary and unjustified as well in this day in age when we have Vegan alternatives.

Dude literally no one would have wanted to sacrifice animals even in that day, the law required that the animal would live with the family for 4 days and ofc they would bond with it :( and thats sad but THEY DID IT BCS IT WAS NECESSARY, blood shed isnt a good thing,animals or jesus' BUT IT WAS REQUIRED BCS OF SIN. From everything that I have read, the bible says that all 613 laws of Moses are still in effect. If you can answer these four questions below and still arrive at your current beliefs, then please explain to me how you were able to achieve that. I want to know the truth as bad as anyone else does on this matter so please share your knowledge with me. May the holy spirit lead us to all truth. Questions: 1. Can you explain to me why four Christians were participating in a Nazarite vow with Paul in Jerusalem at the Temple? 2. Can you explain to me why Paul didn’t rebuke the four Christians or the Jerusalem council about participating in a Mosaic ceremony that sacrificed animals at the Temple? 3. Can you explain to me why Christians were even at the Temple in Jerusalem(Where only animal sacrifices and prayers took place) in the first place when they were supposedly told by Paul that the priesthood and the sacrificial system was now nailed to the cross? 4. Were you aware that church services were only held in the synagogues and never at the Temple? Acts 21:21-26 GOD’S WORD Translation 21 But they have been told that you teach all the Jews living among non-Jewish people to abandon Moses. They claim that you tell them not to circumcise their children or follow Jewish customs. 22 What should we do about this? They will certainly hear that you’re in town. 23 So follow our advice. We have four men who have made a vow to God. 24 Take these men, go through the purification ceremony with them, and pay the expenses to shave their heads. Then everyone will know that what they’ve been told about you isn’t true. Instead, they’ll see that you carefully follow Moses’ Teachings. 25 ⌞To clarify this matter⌟ we have written non-Jewish believers a letter with our decision. We told them that they should not eat food sacrificed to false gods, bloody meat, or the meat of strangled animals. They also should not commit sexual sins.” 26 The next day, Paul took the men and went through the purification ceremony with them. Then he went into the temple courtyard to announce the time when the purification would be over and the sacrifice would be offered for each of them. 27 When the seven days were almost over, the Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul in the temple courtyard. They stirred up the whole crowd and grabbed Paul. 28 Then they began shouting, “Men of Israel, help! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere to turn against the Jewish people, Moses’ Teachings, and this temple. He has even brought Greeks into the temple courtyard and has made this holy place unclean.” 29 They had seen Trophimus from Ephesus with him in the city earlier and thought Paul had taken him into the temple courtyard.

Because when Jesus fulfilled the law and the prophets, everyone who had been declared righteous through belief didn’t just suddenly understand the mystery… Paul explains the mystery king after the period of acts… it was a transitional period. Jesus literally came to free us from law keeping and self righteousness so we can walk in the Spirit thus fulfilling the righteousness of the Law and all y’all want to do is put the yoke back on. I want to know why God (Yahweh) needed a sacrifice in the first place. If he loves people so much, why couldn't he just forgive them if they confessed and apologized? Where did this business of sacrificing animals come from? There was the time God told Abraham to sacrifice his son, Isaac. And, Abraham said, ok. And Abraham had Isaac carry the wood up the mountain that he would be burned with after he was slaughtered. He binds Isaac, places him on the alter, raises the knife to kill him. And, at the last second God swoops in to stop the slaughter of a child. What a great guy Yahweh is. He still needed a ram from the bushes to be sacrificed instead. Why? Do you think Abraham and his son had a bonding experience there? Did Isaac need therapy later in life? But, people were willing to sacrifice anything it seems. For what? Forgiveness, rain, good luck, a kidney? How widespread was sacrificing animals among the religions of the day, to appease their god? You sacrificed a goat for your god? I sacrificed a prized bull for my god. I've got you both beat, I sacrificed my virgin daughter. Sacrificing animals to appease the gods was quite trendy thousands of years ago. It wasn't just a Yahweh thing. I looked it up. I know gods mating with mortal women was trendy. I have looked that up too. So, God splits his personality to create Jesus, for the main purpose of having him slaughtered as a sacrifice. See, Abraham, I know I asked you to slaughter your son,. But, just to show you how committed I am, I am going to create my own son and have him slaughtered too. Now, we're even. But, why is a sacrifice needed in the first place, a bloody sacrifice of an animal or child or supernatural being? What did you do that was so bad? What kind of fucking monster are you that it takes the blood of a supernatural being, Jesus Christ, to wash away your sins? Why can't God just forgive you? Because, he is a god of laws, and his laws are much more important than your soul. If God just forgives everyone because he loves them, then his laws don't mean anything. And, HELL, which is there to scare you into submission, would be out of business. How many animals and children were sacrificed along the way to wash away sins or bring rain before God came up with the idea to send Jesus to the cross? (Historically, Yahweh was a Canaanite storm god.) So, now you can do whatever you want. Just confess that Jesus Christ is your Lord and Savior and you are forgiven and saved and you get into heaven. What a great deal! (Just in case there really is a God.) Isn't it wonderful being a Christian, beloved? Of course, you should try to be a good person. But, then, you are just the way God made you. So, go ahead, you be you, beloved. All will be forgiven.

It must be understood that down the centuries - people perceived that facets of human behavior were detrimental to the welfare of others. They witnessed killing - stealing another's wife and possessions - causing much pain and grief in the community - making life difficult and at times - intolerable. It was reasoned that surely this behavior must be contrary to the will of "God." They gave this behavior the name of "sin" and termed it "evil." Eventually - the Prophets reasoned that such aberrant behavior must emanate from an "evil" force opposed to "God" and they called it "Satan." The Prophets threatened and punished each other in the belief that "sins" were evil and that "God" would punish men for their wrongdoing against each other. This behavior is practiced to this day in the churches. Ministers try to control people by fear. THE CONCEPT OF "SIN" against God - the Eternal and infinitely Mighty Creator - was a clever and powerful method of controlling other people! Church beliefs are a tragic travesty of all that Jesus tried to teach. Moses first enshrined the belief in "sin" and "punishment" in the form of the Ten Commandments. Moses said that they were given to him by "God" and that if the Israelites broke them - they would have to suffer the penalty - in some cases - this meant death by stoning. They were taught that by breaking the Laws - the Israelites would be sinning against "God." The exact truth is - Moses went to the mountain to pray for a means by which to control the unruly Israelites. In answer to this prayer - the Ten Commandments were inspirationally given to him to help him in his task of bringing the Israelites safely through their desert sojourn with the least degree of trouble-making. Christians are happy to accept and wholeheartedly believe that "God" reputedly instructed Moses to engage in aggressive procedures and massacres when conquering the "promised land." A beautiful and productive land was callously grabbed from hard working people who were slain in their thousands. This was regarded as the right thing to do since "God" had promised them a beautiful land in which to settle. To this day - Christians believe that since "God" spoke to Moses - it must be "God" who decreed the ensuing bloodshed. There are many similar horrific descriptions of war and bloodshed in the Bible considered permissible - just and right - because it was believed that "God" had instructed them to go to war - against Gentiles. Can you not see in the history of the Jews - the rampant EGO-DRIVE in which even "God" is "used" to exempt them from blame? In the moment of self-aggrandizement - it became permissible and equitable to ignore the Ten Commandments and indulge in wholesale massacre. They believed no sin was involved because the killing had been ordained by "God." What a "God!" Can you not also perceive why it was necessary for Jesus to be born to live among the Jews in an effort to help them see that their traditional beliefs and practices were all contrary to the very Nature of GOD who had truly given them being? Since then - down the centuries - men have battled with the concept of "sin" and many sincere people have grieved concerning the way they offend "God" and they beg for forgiveness. Long ago - they sacrificed animals beyond number in the Temple in Jerusalem - to appease "God" and to hopefully escape the effects of their sins. Since that time - innumerable books have been written on the subject - expressing grief and horror at the condition of men's souls - seeking ways to change their behavior - beating themselves with whips to torture the flesh and make it pay for its wrongdoing in thought - words and deed - and many of these books have been applauded by "Christians" and housed within the archives of religious institutions. They bind people to Jesus' age-old persona - preaching the "salvation of man from punishment for his sins" by Jesus' death on the cross. These beliefs are physically impossible and contrary to the facts of creation. No payment is extracted for "sin" by any superior "Deity." This is a human concept entirely - and pagan. All blood-letting of any description for the purpose of religious rites is paganism. Christian churches have presented its followers with nothing less than a "glorified" version of paganism. When people make other people unhappy in any way - they are creating their own future "comeback." Not as retribution - but as a "consciousness activity of creation." Therefore - it is a matter of urgency that these beliefs in "sin" and "salvation by Jesus' death on the cross" should be strongly combated - and replaced - by UNCONDITIONAL LOVE and the TRUTH of EXISTENCE.

"SIN" is the direct result of the interplay of the Bonding-Rejection Impulses within human nature. The Bonding-Rejection Impulses constituted the emotional/mental mask worn by all created individual entities, including birds and animals. You see these impulses at work within all of nature - even within plant life. The Bonding-Rejection Impulses directed/directs the behavior towards survival of all entities in creation. There is no escaping the Bonding-Rejection Impulses. These Twin Impulses are the ephemeral source of all "worldly" comfort, pleasure, "happiness" - and also the source of all sicknesses, miseries and deprivations in the world. Therefore, these Impulses of Bonding-Rejection in the individual personality also become highly creative in that they determine - and make visible - the "consciousness forms" of "things desired" and "things rejected."

I have questioned many times but I believe this issue goes deeper. What we are not told in the OT is that other nations were carrying out all kinds of abominations against animals even worshiping them Egypt a prime example. This became even more apparent in Leviticus. EG what would posses a human to boil the kid of a goat in it's mother's milk? Why did God say you shall not lie down with an animal the same as a human, it is an abomination this leads me to believe that the nations arrund were observed by God. Pathetic explanation. It’s not about what we as humans think about it. Attributing this to what God wanted is totally the opposite. God is the same yesterday today and forever. Man and cultures have changed. As we became more civilised and educated we changed our practices. But to attribute that to God is not right.

A better way to atone from sin, is work and counseling. There's no evidence that animal sacrifice worked in anyway whatsoever.
@adim00lah
@adim00lah Жыл бұрын
A sacrifice is an act of giving up something that is valuable for some specific aim or purpose, in this case to atone for sin. Animals 2000 years ago were the most valuable resource of the common man. Sacrificing a cow means you have no more milk, cheese, butter etc.... Sacrificing a sheep meant you had no more wool. Sacrificing a chicken meant you had no more eggs. It was a tremendous loss. By losing something up front, we are in essence balancing the ledger. Every time we sin we get into karmic debt. Eventually what we did would catch up with us, and we would wind up taking a loss in some other way. By paying our karmic debt up front, we wouldn't have to worry about the debt in the future. In this way our debt has been covered. The Hebrew word “kaphar” in the Old Testament Bible is translated into English as atonement and it means “to cover.” To cover what? Our karmic debts. The death of the animal was not even necessary to qualify as a sacrifice. After all, one of the offerings brought by a sinner was the korban minchah, which was made up of flour. We also find in the Torah that both incense and monetary donations served to atone for the people. It should be noted that nowhere in the Torah is it stated that atonement can be found only through sacrifice, never mind blood sacrifice. In the book of Jonah, the people of Nineveh had sinned and God was going to punish them. When Jonah showed them the error of their ways, they fasted and prayed, and were forgiven. The same thing happened in the book of Esther. Living in Persia between the first and second Temples, they fasted, regretted their sins and were forgiven.

Free will depends on sacrifice, you can only enact free will if you can abstain from your temptations, a man ruled by temptation doesn’t have free will. Free will is earned, Jesus knew this when he fasted in the desert and he knew it when he died on the cross.

Isa 1:11 To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith YHWH: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. Isa 1:12 When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Isa 1:13 Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and Sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Isa 1:14 Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. Isa 1:15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Isa 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; Isa 1:17 Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow. Isa 1:18 Come now, and let us reason together, saith YHWH: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Isa 1:19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: Isa 1:20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of YHWH hath spoken it.

YHWH COMMANDED animal sacrifice. If you didn't follow the convoluted rules precisely, you would be "cut off from your people." The sons of Aaron made a mistake in burning incense the wrong way so YHWH burned them alive and killed them instantly. He commanded that 3,000 of his chosen people be slaughtered for making the golden calf which was actually supposed to be a seat for YHWH to rest upon but he didn't like that seat, he only liked the "mercy seat" on top of the Ark of the Covenant. YHWH from the Old Testament is a petty, vindictive, violent, abusive god that throws temper tantrums faster than a toddler. This is how ancient Hebrews viewed YHWH.

@@mizz_vibes1732 From logic, can you think of a reason why God in the OT needs the sacrifice of an animal ? Animals aren't admitted into heaven so how does the sacrifice become a divine requirement for God, let's assume he doesnt need lamb chops or chicken curry... right ? The video doesn't really explain it And reverts to the jesus explanation but that's new testament ...so it's a little out of place to use the new testament to explain the old testament. Also I know that in the ancient world animal sacrifice wasnt necessarily associated with redemption from sin, but rather foretelling the future or attracting positive favour

Maybe as said in the video... Sacrifices show us the meaning of our sins... Maybe it meant to show that our sins are needed to be forgiven by blood.... And finally Jesus became the ultimate sacrifice
@oftin_wong
@oftin_wong 3 жыл бұрын
@@BOB-ho1xq as I explained above the reasons for animal sacrifice in the ancient world has its origins in a pre christian world ... there is a great deal of religous synchronisity throughout the ancient world ...the reason for it have been assumed by the christian world to supplant your sin onto the animal thereby cleansing you of your sin ...transfering it to the animal...or, exactly what you describe in refereance to jesus, but the actual origins of the act predate christianity by tens of thousands of years so it just became a way to recruit followers over to a new religion, by using a familiar ritual, and just changing the reasons why it was done. In addition the 'being washed in the blood of jesus' thing is totally creepy when you think about it. In addition if jesus was the ultimate sacrifice then why is God still judging everyone's sin like business as usual ...what actually changed ?
@BOB-ho1xq
@BOB-ho1xq 3 жыл бұрын
@@oftin_wong What changed is that... People in the old Testament were going on the wrong track by sinning etc.... Then Jesus came in the world to get everyone back on the right track... God could do it in a way of punishment or anything else but God wanted people to change on their own by seeing that God loves us... Jesus death n suffering showed us what our sins deserved and Resurrection of Jesus showed us that there is eternal life bcoz of Jesus sacrifice
