Diesel is still the best option for people with high running. Grand Vitara is also a lot more expensive than Creta diesel which starts around 15-16 lakhs while Grand Vitara strong hybrid is 20+

Guys Diesel was never about average, i have ford diesel and torque it generates compared to petrol car combined with Heft of Diesel on road is simply unparalleled.. Petrol cars feels like driving toys... Diesel due to weight has excellent grip on road.

Hv bought creta petrol sxo cvt My running is near 1500 km monthly for work highway city mix Average around 12 km 10-12k fuel expense is fixed monthly . Earlier was planning to buy diesel then dropped due to 10 Year issue , showroom staff also wanted advance booking for diesel version as they said it’s not ready available due to low demand .

Review is great, but the winner is Creta Diesel. Leaving aside everything else, same price if you have ADAS L2, nothing like that. ADAS saves lives. Period. And I really dont know why people are still citing kms running per month, now Creta Petrol DCT and Creta Diesel is priced SAME, in fact DCT is costlier. IVT I am not counting since it is sluggish and mileage is poor when driven with a bit of enthusiasm (I had a Verna IVT). Grand Vitara is around about same price of Creta Diesel. Same price, so many features, Hyundai interiors, 20+ mileage - Creta Diesel clear winner.

I think the main reason of less efficiency on highway for a hybrid car is not the lack of regen, the engine is running most of the time since the vehicle is at high speed. At that speed, unless on an incline, the battery will not power the car.

I have driven creta diesel sx tech 8000 km and my observation on mileage . Best highway mileage 28.3 if driven at a speed of 75 and car is parked in a shade and ac doesn't need to work hard .If hot outside and car is parked in sum and then average drops to 25 . But at speed of 90 + average is 22-23 . Even if you drive badly highway average is above 20 . City average 12-19 depending on traffic .

The difference is that in 8 ish years you have to spend another 5-7L on the hybrids, which would not even be the total cost to run the diesel for so many years and you have to drive a 3 cylinder 😞.. with no comparison in torque

When we spoke to Maruti, we were told that while the warranty is for 8 yr on the battery, even post 10 yrs or so, the battery (of strong hybrid system) will return about 90% of the efficiency. So its not that owners will HAVE to change battery after 8 yrs. Plus, cost of batteries is for sure coming down these days. Fingers crossed

Petrol Engine life span is low compared to diesel.. diesel Has more torque ,, and its turbo.. We still love diesel..Intercooler turbo charged😍 ...( note petrol turbo is not torque than diesel turbo) one more..while driving petrol engine when we take off from the accelerator its speed decreased...😂😂 but in diesel it goes ..thats a huge diffence in highway..chek it
