Is it only me or maybe have you switched to a different camera microphone but the engine appears to "sing" at WOT ? Besides, the optimal trim adjustment really minimizes that "mustache" water spray in the back ... he, he, he !

She flys and sounds good too! It looked to me that you painted over the water inlets on the lower unit without masking? Maybe I just didn’t see correctly. Was just curious. Good video! 👍

That "mustache" water spray is because the motor is mainly mounted probably too deep! At WOT the AV Plate should be riding just about at the surface of the water. And, also at the same time... trimmed just down from the point where the motor is starting to VENTILATE & the rpm's climb radically higher while making no more speed increase. Also with that, the OPTIMAL rpms should be within the MIDDLE of the 5,000-6,000 factory WOT range (5,500 rpms) of course! 😊

Thanks for tuning in! Outboard was mounted properly and perfectly aligned plate with boat bottom. It's all in the videos! Thanks again !
@fastwin493

@THISOLDOUTBOARD1 Yes, I know all that. But, being aligned parallel at the bottom level of your V hull is only a good rough BASIC INITIAL GENERAL STARING POINT REFERENCE. That is not enough to be "absolutely perfect". Your particular hull, prop and trim settings height can need to be "fine tuned" accordingly for full EFFICIENCY & optimal PERFORMANCE. If that's what you are really interested in experimenting and chasing. I know it's hard for you as only one person, to be able to observe the actual level of the AV plate with correct maximum trim (without starting to ventilate)... mounting hole at WOT. Which, is the only way for sure to know where you are (height wise) really at WOT operating coditions. Regarding the final working engine & AV plate mounting height. I suggest you mount your camera at the stern while under way. To record and play back, to know where the actual height is. Again... it should just skim slightly above or just below the surface. Where you are set at right now... may not actually be where you expect & think it is. 😉

@@fastwin493 Wow. I was gonna say all that but changed my mind trying to catch up on all those comments. Mounting a camera and all, like I did on the clipper with the 30! To funny! Don't forget Prop diameter & pitch too. I've actually raised the motor up one hole since I firsts installed it. And thats probably all its gonna see other than back down again. Won't be drilling more holes! I will run a camera so stay tuned for that. Thanks again and have a great 4th! C U in the next one!

Electrolysis is still going to happen in fresh water, just not nearly as bad or fast… the paint will probably come off of it enough that the anode will do its job.
