Nice! Where's the harness located at for the 2 wires that were depinned for the speakers
@the710experiment843 жыл бұрын
The plugs are located just above the interior fuse box.

I try to hardwire but a lot of things don't make any sense as an electrician. I try relay but only click only nothing happened.

You might want to check all the switches and window motors to make sure the equipment is in working condition, because if you follow everything I did and install it like I did it should all work like Honda intended it to.

so you depinned the dx plugs for the speakers and the power door subharness just plugs into the back of the fuze box below the relay ? effectively you just added the power doors or did you remove anything from your car ?
@the710experiment842 жыл бұрын
I didn't remove anything from the dx except the whole manual door assembly, and you don't necessarily have to do that if you want to swap out all the guts. To add the ex subharness there was a relay and fuses that needs added to the dx fuse box then aside from the speaker wires that I chose to depin all the other wired just plugs into the fuse box and doors.

@@the710experiment84 sorry still a little confused. so when your adding in the new harness you made, are you just unplugging the the stock harness connector from the fuze box (bottom left green one) and plugging in your new sub harness then ? Like, the dx already has those connectors right? And theyre just way less wires (since we only have speakers and door indicators) so you just unplug them and plug in the new sub harness or did u pin into the existing plugs? Or are the plugs for the doors not there on the stock harness at all ?
@the710experiment842 жыл бұрын
Yes the dx has all the proper spots to just add the new subharness plugs in the fuse box. The only thing has to be modified is where the door speakers are connected. That's the plug I depinned the wires from the car and swapped in the wires from the new subharness. Hopefully that'll clear things up for you, but feel free to ask more if you have any other questions about this.

@@the710experiment84 ok that def helps. Speakers get pinned into stock harness, but everything else the subharness replaces stock harness connections then. As in behind the fuze box, to the doors, and to the PM switch, correct ? And therefore you end up just unplugging the stock harness and plugging in your new subharness, and effectively just leaving the old connectors hanging around (obviously ill tape them up so theyre not actually) and not running to anything anymore ?
@hondaboytates79582 жыл бұрын
@@the710experiment84 my confusion is stemming from the fender/door plug mostly. I get under the dash is no big deal to have a few connectors chilling, but what about the fender plug to the door ? I have a 92vx and my car def has the wire loom running thru to the door already, but im guessing its not prewired, so ill have to replace that with said sub harness like u made and like the forum described, but where does ur stock harness door plugs go ? You just snipped and taped ?

If the door latches are manual can u just add on the electrical part to lock and unlock the doors or do u have to use the latches from a car that had electrical latches already
@the710experiment843 жыл бұрын
The way to make the car have oem power door locks is to swap out the manual latches for the power ones. If it doesn’t matter to you if it’s oem, an aftermarket door lock solenoid, or power door lock kit, can be added to the manual doors. Either route you decide to go requires about the same electrical/mechanical skill set.

You could use the same harness in a 98 civic dx?
@the710experiment843 жыл бұрын
The same principle applies to the 96-2000 civics, but the 98 dx civic would need the harness out of a 96-98 ex civic. If your dx is a 2/3 door you’ll need a 2 door ex harness. If your dx is a 4 door you’ll have to get a 4 door harness.

Did you use EX doors?
@the710experiment84 Жыл бұрын
Yes I did. Using the whole ex door was faster and easier than swapping out the entire guts of both doors.

@@the710experiment84 Good to know. I would imagine finding those doors is getting pretty hard to come by these days!
