I picked my first lock with two paper clips and the thrill of it was pure joy! got a master lock open (it took a good bit of time) guys at work have bet me money I couldn't open their tool boxes (they lost) I found a new hobby and you found yourself a new subscriber
@IanBPPK5 жыл бұрын
Careful with that, if tools go missing, you may be the first person they go to. Perhaps work with them in getting more pick-resistant locks to deter that.

Hehe, picked my first lock in 4th grade, there was a cabinet door with a cheap no-name Chinese laminated 4-pin between me and the teacher's "reward candy" jar. The lock was so shit I folded out the middle bit of a paperclip so it was just one big key-shaped loop and it could be used exactly like a key. I got caught eventually because all the blue raspberry now&laters kept selectively disappearing, the teacher was blown away when I showed her how I did it.
@twizz4204 жыл бұрын
@@Suiseisexy Yeah my grandfather used to keep his werther originals locked up in a cabinet and I figured out that if you just slide something all the way into the lock, there was a thin spring or something you could push on at the back of the keyway and it would pop right open.

Can you do a video breaking down counter rotation false sets and other key words that you use
@greg1232945 жыл бұрын
Counter rotation is the easiest to explain when you pick a spool or something similar as you lift up on the pin the core will turn the opposite way of tension a false set is when you pick a pin or pins and the core gives but doesn't open
@yankeeredneck72295 жыл бұрын
Okay I pretty much under stand false sets but the information on the counter rotation is really helpful
@greg1232945 жыл бұрын
Honestly imo the only way to really understand counter rotation is to find or have a locksmith build a lock that has different styles of spool pins and just try picking it you will start to get the feel and you will understand a lot more a lot faster I'm an amateur lock picker myself and it's all in trying you have to get a feel for it more than anything
@adamstephens96115 жыл бұрын
@@greg123294 so counter rotation only applies to spool pins? Is it the opposing force created when picking a lock like say you're applying tension in one direction and while you're picking the lock the core turns in the opposite direction of which you're applying tension?

Hello! First of all, I would like to thank you for your consistent, entertaining, informative videos! I'm a budding lock picking enthusiast. As of now my "set" consists of a homemade paperclip torsion wrench and pick. They are functional (just barely!), however, they can't and won't ever truly be reliable and are obviously dangerous for the few locks I have available to practice with. My question for you: what is the most versatile pick and other absolutely essential tools, that won't break the bank, for a budding tumbler teaser? Thanks again!
