Dang if it dont sound purdy. I got a 94, was wanting to delete cat. Mine i feed all rhe snake oil i can get. Ranger 1 reports very well for a 94 w almost 200, no oil leaks.

I have a '99 Ranger 3.0 & want to do the Mustang 3.8 headers (with an adapter, JBA headers are extremely hard to find), delete both cats & have a X pipe in its place, 2.5" piping all the way, & a Flowmaster Super 10 with a side exit 3" tip or if I had the money, I would yank out the Explorer 5.0 & put it in my ranger

my 94 3.0 has an exhaust split right where the downpipe meets the exhaust system from the engine back. So I sound slightly better than a Honda civic. this sounds great

Probly the best sounding 3.0 I have heard on You Tube. There is just something about those 3.0's that have a very unique sound that no other truck has. The 4.2L in the F150's sound very similar. The 2 4.0L's I had in my explorers I just never could get them to sound...…………….right. Like, I don't know, they all just sounded...……….wrong somehow. Everyone talks about shorty shifters, and here you went and made yours TALLER! hahahaha! Hey, I dig it! I had a extended shifter in my 'ol 1989 International Eagle. (I don't drive big trucks anymore) always thought they were col myself. lol Great vid.

@@silkygt.v.6797 yes, if you don't its not gonna sound like the video. Some shops won't cut off catalytic converters. So you may have to do it yourself and drive there. I would have a friend who is experienced working on cars handle that. If you have a 1995 or older ranger (like me, mine is 93) you won't get a check engine light.

if you copied this exhaust EXACT to my setup, which requires removal of all the cats, then it will definitely make some noise. However, it's a small 3 liter v6, its not gonna make the same noise that a straight piped big block muscle car will. Honestly I'd say go for it, idling its not terribly loud, just don't romp on it until you're down the road.

check the video i uploaded a couple days ago, i did a lot more shots of the truck from the outside while its moving, I also changed it from side exit to axle dumps but the loudness is basically the same so you can use it as an idea

@@bigboredom5800 cool, check the other video out too. Axle dumps sound slightly different. They both sound good, but i think between the two the axle dumps are my favorite. Since you're going as far as to change the whole setup you may as well get it right the first time.

I think the 3.0 Vulcans are actually great sounding V6’s, which is rare to me. I don’t think they need to try and sound like a V8 to sound good. But your setup sounds especially good on this truck.

Mine sounds rough but with a tune up I'm sure it'll clear up I love the sound of the engine but I just wish I could get it to stop fuckin tapping (I have no idea if it's lifters or anything but she has fresh oil and it's not low so probably lifters or valve tap)

@@jamesprice2163could be an exhaust leak from the manifolds or check ur egr pipe i had a knocking noise it quieted down when it was warm tho might not be your case or it could. Also check ur sparkplugs and wires.

@@captainnug_6031go to muffler shop. Have them remove the cats and put in a flowmaster muffler with the side pipes. They weld all this stuff up. They put the chrome tips on. Although id say it sounded better when i had them change it to axle dumps later in the future. I have other videos of that as well

Buying a JBA Exhaust header kit here in the next few weeks for my 91' Ranger. There's no inspection here in Tennessee so I have no cats, just a straight pipe with a muffler. I'll be putting a manga flow on after the headers and hopefully it'll sound good. It's unfortunately a automatic and just 2WD but it's better than nothing.

You can get the pistol grip knob from advance auto. It's not custom.

It isnt possible to install ANY knob on these trucks with this shifter because it is a splined shaft with no threaded hole or anything to grab onto. The way I mounted it is 100 percent a custom job. And no I will not explain it, since it is "not custom" then it doesnt sound like a hard job for you to figure out for yourself. Thanks for the view

@@WillowandKat1 the 4 liter sounds different!!! I suggest you watch videos of those first. The 3 liter sounds WAY better than the 4 liter, even though the 4 liter is more powerful. Every video of 4 liter rangers with open exhausts sounds like clapped out impalas or grand prixes. Just be careful
