i had no idea borla made headers for this. i have a 97 explorer with the ohv so i imagine the headers would fit. rangers and explorers share a lot. Unfortunately I need CARB legal stuff so JBA might be my route

Hey Derek did you do your duals before you put the headers on or did you do it all at the same time? Just wondering if you felt any gains in power by the headers alone? I had a 92 4.0 5 speed had true 2.5" duals with no converters, two 1 chamber flow masters with 2.5" tailpipes out both sides. It sounded NASTY! Now I have a 2000 4.0 5 speed having to replace the heads so I'm gonna put a pair of headers on it was just wondering if they made any noticeable power..

Far From Perfect well I traded a radio for the headers which are no longer in production and the dual exhaust work was done by my GFs dad who owns a shop. So I'm all in $200 out of my pocket.

Alright so I've got a 98 4.0 with pretty much only a glass pack on. I've noticed you truck pops a bit too when it's revved. Did the popping change when you added the headers or was it the same?

Borla headers. Good luck finding a set. True dual 2” pipe from each header back with a 24” glass pack on each side.

it should sound similar. without headers it will sound a little different probably a little less raspy.. and if you keep the cats it will be less raspy as well. the SOHC motor flows more in the higher rpms .. it should sound pretty mean
