Held in Qaqortoq by a storm, we do our best to find protection in the crowded harbour. Greenland is really showing off on both it's beauty and the raw power of nature that dominates here.
Would you dare go into water with icebergs floating in the background?
Some say cruising life is high highs and low lows, and this episode really reflects just that!
Hope you enjoy it!
Fair winds,
Emmy and Marcus

We are Emmy and Marcus, a Swedish couple who has decided to leave our home and set sail out into the world with our boat Linnea. After a season in the Caribbean, we decided to leave Linnea in Trinidad and fly back to Sweden for the hurricane season. This allowed us to get an extra year of sailing and reach even more beautiful destinations for our second season of cruising. For now the goal is Greenland and back home to Sweden, via the Caribbean, BVIs, Bahamas, US east coast, and Canada. But who really knows how far our dreams might take us?
Welcome aboard our floating home Linnea to join us on our adventures!

Hey Marcus and Emmy! Enjoyed the video very much - it's helping us to keep excited during this London winter about our own Viking Voyage east to west next summer. A couple of questions, if you please: I noticed you were using a PVC pipe as a fender board. How did that work ? Seems like a great idea if it doesn't crack... Next, how were the insects in Greenland? I could see them flitting about in some of the shots. Did you have head nets like we do in Scotland for the midges? Finally, do you have a map showing your route and anchorages? Hope you are both well....Happy New Year from Brian and Helen on Helacious

Hi Helen and Brian! :) Glad you are keeping exited about your upcoming route! It will be epic! How is the winter in London? Here in Malmö it's mostly just a lot of rain and wind.. The PVC pipe work well! We mainly used our teak fender board and the PVC as a spear or placed in areas less likely to be pushed against the dock.. We saw this solution on a big motor boat in the US, and I think they had 3 of them spread out to share the load. As you say, it's a risk that they will crack.. But it's a nice spear and as they are not so heavy, it's a lot easier to move around - which was nice as we moved spots so many times! Also, it's nice because they roll on the fenders which creates less noice :) We had head nets, but didn't use them much.. I was actually surprised to see how many flies that got caught on camera! It didn't feel like that much when you where there.. And we didn't really have any biting mosquitos, just annoying smaller things that got in your nose (probably what you call midges?). I don't have a map, but I do have all the anchorages in the logbook :) And the routes in Navionics.. I could share them with you on Whats App if you like? Stay safe and fair winds from Emmy and Marcus

Great video! Two questions: 1) what is the make and model of your boat? 2) is her hull insulated? Thank you in advance for your responses.

Thank you! Our boat is a Swedish Linjett 40, really great boat! Her hull is insulated down to the waterline and as we lived aboard during winter in Sweden we have also out some extra insulation in spots where we found condensation problems, like cupboards and under the bed :)
