Nice video. Some improvements you could make: The narration sounds like chatgpt. Try more story telling. Photography, use the rule of thirds. Subject is mostly in the centre. Use more negative space.
@DanielErnstАй бұрын
thanks so much for your feedback! 😊 We like the narration, it's not easy doing this on a foreign language and without practice so don't expect us to be the next NatGeo Storyteller 😉 We like it and thats important! Photography rules are there to break, I personally don't like the rule of thirds and prefer a centered built. But thanks so much again for the great feedback!

This was absolutely brilliant! I did not expect this, the cinematography and photography are both superb, compositions are great and the editing process in the photography is lovely with the colors that goes really well with the calm story telling. Are all the photos shot by one person (you?) or a mix from several? There are several photos that could be used as pure teaching of great composition techniques. My only critique would be that I wish the photos you show would get another second extra per photo in the video, it felt a little stressfull att times when they moved on too quickly. Too long for each shot gets boring, too short gets stressfull and these shots are good enough to deserve another second of exposure time in the video. Well done, looked like a great trip! /Rasmus
@DanielErnst3 ай бұрын
Hey Rasmus, thank you so much! Really happy to hear this, means a lot to us 😊🙏 The photos are from Tashi and me, you can tell by the camera model who took it - R5 is Tashis cam and R5C is mine. Also appreciate the feedback, thank you 😊 we thought about the duration a lot during the edit and in our first draft the photos were displayed a bit longer up until 3s. But that made the video much too long resulting in more than 1h. Either we would have taken out 50% of the images or shorten the duration and so we tried to find a balance of these two points. We’ll keep that in mind for the next project 😊🙏
@rasmus_mattsson3 ай бұрын
@@DanielErnst Thank you for the informative reply! Lovely to know the photos are a mix and it's really nice to see both you be so alike in how the photos turn out (from an outsiders point of view). The thought about showing the photos a little longer was merely because they were so interesting and nice to watch I wanted a little extra time with them 🙂 Nothing to keep in mind, you have far more skill with this than I do. Keep it coming!

This is one of the most stunning videos I have seen in a long time. Your footage is absolutely breathtaking and incredibly well done. Your sailing expedition through Scoresby Sund in East Greenland truly captures the untouched beauty of this remote area. Seeing life on board the wooden two-mast schooner, Ópal, navigating through the largest fjord system in the world was awe-inspiring. The way you documented the small settlement of Ittoqqortoormiit and the legendary Greenland Dogs (Qimmeq Qimuttoq) added such a unique and captivating element to the story. Your video gave me a real sense of how adventurous and tough expeditions must have been in the past. It must have been an intimidating yet exhilarating experience sailing through the high Arctic. I appreciate you sharing this incredible journey. The stunning visuals and the personal touch in your storytelling made me feel like I was right there with you. I have to go on a trip like this someday! I've subscribed and can't wait to see more of your adventures! Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad

Hey Daniel, I kindly wanted to ask (since this expedition was filmed on the R5C) do you enjoy filming on the R5C or R5 more?
@DanielErnst6 күн бұрын
hey 👋 I just came back from another expedition to the same place and this time I took the R5 Mark II with me. All in all I enjoyed using them both, but the R5m2 was easier and more convenient to use. With the R5C you either had to rig it with a VMount Battery or swap batteries every 30 to 60 minutes, the R5m2 had a battery life of around 2.5h with a single battery. Also from the quality I would choose the R5m2 since Clog 2 is simply amazing! Compared to the original R5, I would go with the R5C if you have external power supply. Otherwise R5m2 😊 Hope that helps!
