Describing the repetition, Sri Ramakrishna says (paraphrasing): A parrot can be taught to chant, “Rama, Rama, Rama!” but when the cat grabs him he just squawks! 😂. I believe he is speaking of mechanical repetition of God’s name. God’s name must be chanted with longing and devotion. However, with a mahavakya….. eh?
