Thing is, Raymond, Hurts hasn't been sharp all season. He has regressed as a quarterback and that truth is painfully obvious. He can only run RPOs... like a high school QB. The defense is the only reason the Eagles are in the playoffs this year. The Eagles need to find a better QB than Jalen Hurts if they are going to have any long term, consistent success.

Regressed?The ONLY reason why Hurts looks bad...is HURTS!!!He holds on to the ball too long...and he is being indecisive in his decisions!!! But you are going off on the deep end!!!

@@soundbonz The defense and Saquon. Hurts is just too slow to process the field at the speed of the NFL. He holds onto the ball longer than all but one starting QB in the league. So teams will blitz him - Minny does it often. When he was blitzed yesterday, he was 33% completions. It leads him to scramble rather than taking the second or third read. Just one area of several key areas that are deficient. He is rated in the middle of the pack by PFF. I'd like to see what McKee does given the same defenses, next season.

Are they really trippin on AJ Brown and the book? Who cares how it looks? This is where I side with AJ where people are just looking for something negative. He can't win unless he fits into the mold of the conventional mindset... he has to fit inside "this box" to be approved - ridiculous. Can he be himself do what he needs to do for himself to help the team?

Positivity take: it's better for the team to feel like they still have work to do, rather than rolling in the first game and letting their guard down. Don't forget, the 2017 team barely beat Atlanta before they blew the doors of Minnesota. Keep the dogs hungry

What is the guy talking about regarding the 2 minute offense? We've scored in 2min situations a bunch of times this year, Saints (if we didn't bungle the end of that drive and just kicked a FG instead), Bucs, Browns (if we didn't get the FG blocked), Jags, Cowboys, Bengals, Rams, and Panthers are all games where we (at least should have) scored on our last drive before halftime. This guy is getting exasperated at a factually incorrect talking point, how dumb is that??

@@straycatttt2766 I remember Jon Ritchie (who was actually a Fullback) but me not recognizing him has nothing to do with my football knowledge. Here’s the thing, this isn’t an opinion that involves subjectivity. He kept going on about how we never operate a 2 min offense and I pointed 8 games where we at least drove into FG position before halftime. Most of the games we didn’t was because the other team had the ball. Just cause Ritchie played 20 years ago doesn’t make him right about everything.

Especially with your QB coming back from being in concussion protocol and not having played for 3.5 weeks. You know he's not going to be sharp so help him out. Yeah, the play calling was questionable. Hope Moore isn't getting distracted with his HC interviews. Why the Hell don't they wait til after the SB to start the official offseason and then teams can schedule interviews for coaching hires?

Jalen played better than everyone is saying...and I am not saying he won't have to be better because he will have to play better for the team to go all the way...but it's a team thing. The whole team has to play better (and play calling has to be better). Jalen also isn't getting enough credit for what he did do. He hung in the pocket and delivered a beautiful touchdown pass. He also did call an audible which took advantage of the defense and resulted in a long TD to Dallas.
@mikeguinness5408
@mikeguinness5408 17 сағат бұрын
I don't know if I'd say, for this game, that the whole team needs to play better as the D really couldn't have played much better than they did. The Packers were shorthanded with injuries and that helped, but the D still did their job. The loss of Dean could be problematic the rest of the game(s). Burks, while he seemed to play decent vs the Giants the last game of the season, he was out of sorts after coming into the game for Dean. He missed tackles and looked a little lost in coverage. If Dean can't go then hopefully the first team reps he'll get this week will help him be better, but Burks is still a step down from Dean. How much of one is the question. I was expecting Hurts to be rusty, especially since the Packers had the 7th overall rated D. That's the good news is that they're the best D we'll face on the NFC side. The remaining teams rank 13th, 16th, 20th, and 26th. He didn't turn it over, which is huge in the playoffs, and I liked that on the first TD pass how he stayed in the pocket and kept his eyes downfield to find Dotson (who I thought might be invisible to Hurts) when usually he would have sprinted out to his right and probably thrown the ball OOB. The play calling for me was lacking this game. That screen to Barkley on 3rd down was slow developing and I could tell before he threw the ball that it was going to get blown up. Again, once a team started blitzing us we had no answer for how to counter it. Where's the hot read? Where's the quick slant over the middle? Still concerned we basically give up 1/3 of the field (the middle) when you see the Packers pretty much not defending it when they blitz because they know we rarely throw to the middle of the field. And we have the personnel to attack the middle of the field, but we don't. Have to hope Hurts shook off the rust this game and will be sharper next game and missing Dean won't hurt the D side much.

It's ironic, McNabb got killed in this town regularly, and all he did was make it to four straight NFC title games and a superbowl without even half the talent that Hurts has. Yet, here we always are with constant excuses for why Hurts can't seem to find open receivers and holds on to the ball for 7-10 seconds at a time. It was the offensive coordinator last year, and it's once again the offensive coordinator. Make excuses all you want, but you aren't getting to a superbowl with your QB playing like Hurts has been playing, unless the defense is historically great. The Eagles better hope the defense is historically great because Hurts flat out stunk yesterday, and don't give me the rust nonsense. He's been playing like this all season. Just because he says vapid self-helpy things during his press conferences doesn't mean he's a great quarterback, Playing like a great quarterback is what makes someone a great quarterback. This team has everything it needs to win, and what a travesty if they won't get where they can go because the quarterback isn't good enough. And sorry Hurts apologists, he flat hasn't been good enough.
@sinan_3384
@sinan_3384 10 сағат бұрын
Yet we’ve already had the version of Hurts was good enough to win the Super Bowl and he was let down by his defense. Now the eagles have doubled down on making the defense rock solid and that’s not good enough either

@@sinan_3384 No, Hurts made an unforced turnover in the game that ended a very important scoring drive against a team that no defense was keeping out of the endzone. You can't make errors against great teams with great quarterbacks. See Nick Foles in 2017. You want to take the king's crown, you have to play better than the King. Hurts didn't do that. Stop pretending Hurts had no role in losing that game. He hasn't won anything. Until he wins something, shut up with this hyperbole about the guy's "greatness."

@@Hemingway-dq4fxour defense had no issues keeping them out the endzone the entire first half. We went into the half with a 10 point lead. Why’s it so hard to admit the defense shit the bed? Add special teams to that. The turnover was unfortunate yes but we still put up 35 points. Defense gave up a few inexcusable long runs to Mahomes on one leg. Then gave up two of the softest redzone TDs you’ll ever see which was the same play twice and we didn’t see either coming.

@@Hemingway-dq4fxI mean his defense did give him a massive strip sack to effectively put the eagles in the drivers seat to win the game. Hurts’ defense couldn’t stop a simple concept in the redzone twice on consecutive drives in the 4th qtr. 17 4th quarter points.

AJB book is a non-issue. Media trying to find something to start up with him again. Regarding Hurts he holds onto the ball way too long. His eyes are always looking for the deep shot with guys open underneath. Can’t make a decision or is afraid to pull the trigger. TD McKee gets rid of the ball within 2 seconds when he played against the Giants. Hurts should follow his lead. That being said the they won the game. That is all that matters. Go Birds! 🦅

Chalk it up to injury, Shane Steichen's departure, NFL defenses figuring him out, whatever you want. He's just not the same guy and definitely not a top-tier QB. Every playoff defense knows the formula for beating us, shut down our run, force Jalen to win with his arm. Because no D coordinator is scared of Jalen as a passing threat. People bring up his passing stats, but Jalen is not is not asked to pass that much compared to other QBs. People bring up the Superbowl, his game against the Bills, but Jalen is not consistent. People say it's Moore's play calling, but he can only call plays that Jalen can do.
