I have that same clanky clank cold start up, noise coming from near the front/trans/cats area from what I can tell. I can only guess that the panthers are all like this.

Do you know what fixed that noise? A anti drain back oil filter and synthetic oil. The oil wasnt getting to where it needed to fast enough. I run pennzoil ultra platinum high mileage oil

Which flowmaster 40 series you have? I been trying to get the duals on my 01 lx and they keep telling me I need 2 mufflers?

Any flowmaster with 2.5 inch outlet and inlet should work. And yes, one muffler for each pipe. Unless you have one pipe in which case it’s one muffler

Are the cats really still intact muffler shop tells me that flowmaster 40 series want make a different in sound at all to do with super 10s but I love the way your sounds and that's what I'm looking for I do have the p71 vic

I appreciate it. Yes all 4 cats are installed. The rear resonators are cut off to make room for new exhausts tips.

The resonator are on the mufflers correct

Does cuting them off make sound difference cause I'm about to have this done today any pointers i should tell the muffler guy

On tips. I guess make sure they weld it up good and seal the welds. I am sure they will. Get some long exhausts tips it helps with sound distribution.

I took all 4 cats off my 2011 and put one high flow 2 1/4 cat on each side,, then put 2 chamber Flowmasters on it, it's the perfect sound for me, reminiscent of my younger days when I had 4.6 Mustangs with Flowmaster exhaust lol. Oh and with just a drop in K & N filter and the air silencer removed, 2.73 gears I get 28 mpg on highway trips from Delaware to Massachusetts, that's fill up, set odo, refill and do math, not off the trip computer in dash

@@pantherwavecrownvics I got them off eBay, I just searched 2 1/4 inch high flow cats and ordered a set that popped up. Did you mean dyno test before and after or fuel economy check or?
