To think that some companies today can still have fun while making money, unlike just chasing the cheapest options...
@belisarian64294 жыл бұрын
Well chasing cheapest option feels like short term strategy and can damage company reputation in long run, this on the other hand can be taken as kind of fun advert that will bolster their reputation and helps in long run. These strategies usually tries copy customer needs, if general customers buy cheapest, or rather something with good reputation but larger price. Good thing we have LPL, so we can see which ones are better(and learn some lockpicking on side).
@Pekkhum3 жыл бұрын
@@belisarian6429 Often, ownership is the key here. If a company is privately owned or owned by an ESOP with no immediate intent to sell, there is often a focus on long-term viability. If a company is owned by an investment firm,, publicly owned without a clear majority shareholder, or the majority owner intends to sell, you will see a lot of focus on short-term decision making. My employer is casually destroying its long-term viability with a strong drive to immediately increased sale value as we speak. They started this when they decided to sell and the buyer was an investment firm that is continuing the trend. Whoever owns the company when the bill comes due will probably make an initial public offer to offload the thing before it crashes, much like our current owner did with Uber. The US economy is currently rigged to encourage this kind of economy destroying behavior and it does a fine job of making a few rich and many unemployed. It does have the benefit of making room for startups, though, so we have that going for us...

LPL I think you're really onto something here. Would love to see more themed collabs with other KZbin channels (especially if you can convince paclock and other companies to make custom locks)

locks, keys and lockpickin are really great metaphors to use when talking about the spirit and god.

Paclock, well played. My first lock I ever picked was a cheap 'hyper tough' padlock. The tools I used were an Allen wrench that I shaped into a pick and another Allen wrench that I turned into a tension wrench. The second lock I ever attempted and picked was my dad's 20ish year old masterlock padlock. So yeah, that laser etched troll was what I needed!

Isn't it amazing to see such inovative and crazy ideas getting realized? Besides, picking that wheel alone took longer than some of your other picking videos. Looks like they know how to build a lock.

I really wish I'd gotten into picking a long time ago. The sheer number of different types of locks to learn about is fairly daunting, but that's also one of the things about it that makes it so appealing - you never run out of challenges! This skateboard lock is just the latest example.

I like how you took care to not damage it, but once the Braille Skate guys got on it, well we all know how that went. A masterpiece indeed, hopefully they built one to keep pristine.

Very savvy of them to have your name associated with their products. (Almost) free endorsement from the LPL. 😉

I hope they made more than one so we can see the paclock guy ride it since he’d be ok scuffing it up. Ok apparently they did. Link in description.
