Man that cobra oil filter adapter is huge!

And mine went bad leaking oil in my water! Cannot find replacements.Ugh.would not recommend Cobra style.

The smaller one came on the Lincoln mark8 4v as well. I used my 9904 gt style adapter on my teksid. The 99+ gt style does not have the extended sender ports, it’s directly off the back towards the motor Mount, I have a brass T fitting to feed my supercharger. The 96-98 teksid blocks have a large ear of aluminum that sticks out right where your sender comes out of the filter adapter, didn’t realize it when I installed mine and cracked the brass Tee fitting and dumped several quarts of my start up oil on the ground 😂 With that teksid style filter adapter, it’s made with two ports that point the other direction, I had two of them and didn’t know I needed to use it.

I bought the MMR relocation kit...you know if u can still use your existing lower coolant hose? or does that get eliminated as well?

I’m looking to get rid of my whole assembly on my 97 cobra would one from a gt take its place without any mods? Will the water port be the same size so my stock hose fits it?

Yes, I have used the GT one on the cobra and I don't remember doing any modifications and the water port should be the same size. Just make sure you get the correct gasket or it will leak.

You sure on those part numbers? I thought the smaller one went on the oil cooler and the bigger one on the gt housing. 70801 is for the gt when I looked up on rock auto.

I thought I was, but I could be wrong. I do know that websites used to get them mixed up as to what one went of what model. It doesn't help that many have been swapped out too.

Is there anywhere you can buy these? Mine in my 98 Cobra broke and we have been trying to hunt one down without the cooler but no luck yet any info would be helpful of where to get one. My Mechanic has been searching wreakers all over the place for the Grand Marquis, Town cars and the Crown Victoria's but no luck and nobody wants to destroy one of the few engines to get that part off.

I don't know of anyone that makes factory replacement ones. I have used remote adapters from MMR and On3 and they work great as well.

Can u put the cobra oil cooler on a 97 gt

Yes, they are interchangeable. However, I prefer the non-oil cooler filter adapter over the oil cooler one. It creates more space and there are less places for possible leaks.
