Detroit had Tim Taylor on their roster when “Home Improvement” was a giant in television ratings in 1997. Wild, I remember him. Believe we traded him in 1998.

Let me tell you a story from my youth my boy. You see, Hasek did this more than once in his career and it was successful more than once. Being serious now, I took up goaltending in beer league a couple years ago and I play 5-7 games per week now. I tell ya, the split second calculus involved in whether to play an oncoming puck or not does often hurt my tired and slightly drunk brain. Of course I'm never playing against a Steve Yzerman, but there have been many times where I bet a charging poke check would have been a higher percentage move to make. That, and I really shouldn't be risking my, or my opponents health, in a recreational beer league.

@@Scrotom Yeah, but he was at least ten feet late. Sort of like handing the ball to the fullback on a dive play on 4th and 12. Sure, it could work. But, HIGHLY unlikely.
