We traveled to the middle of Georgia to track down a rare soda fountain drink the Lime Sour. We show you how it's made, and tell you about it's history and why sour drinks quench your thirst. We then take the flavors and make it into a hard candy.

I walked to Chapman’s Pharmacy everyday for a lime sour after school when I went to Hapeville High School in the late 1960’s. After watching this great video I am going to get my daughter and my Grandaughter and return to Chapman’s to get a lime sour next week. We live about 30 minutes away but it will be well worth it to go. I can hardly wait, I hope that I don’t cry when I get there due to all of the fond memories. I didn’t know that it was still there until watching this video, thank you for sharing. ♥️🥰😍😘

The salt works by interfering with the bitterness of the lime. Without that bitterness, you can taste the small amount of sugar that lime juice contains.

Black salt is a form of rock salt widely used in South Asia. Chemical impurities give the solid crystals a dark purple to brown colour (becoming pink when finely ground) as well as a distinctive flavour.

Every morning I have trouble eating breakfast because of dry mouth, It usually doesn't get better until lunch time and by that time I'm starving. Hopefully this lime drink will help! Thanks for all the interesting info and all the work you put in to making these clips, truly wholesome!

ETA: It’s always fun to see you look at the camera occasionally to acknowledge us viewers 😊 We had an historic soda fountain in a pharmacy (Saywell’s in Hudson, OH) near my hometown, and we loved going there for REAL phosphates, ice cream sodas, shakes, and malts. It closed down years ago, and I still miss it. Such happy memories. They had the old telephone booth still there, old medicine bottles on display... just amazing.

I really like the nerdy science and history bits added to these videos. Those are what keeps me coming back. But how come you never have any videos about making drops with licorice and/or anise? Are those just impossible to sell in your country? If they’re somewhat unpopular, compared to in European countries, then that could perhaps be the basis for a nerdy lecture in culinary history...

Friend of mine brought back a bag of these and gave them to me, these are delicious, and sweeter than I would have thought. They remind me of the “slushees” a neighborhood lady used to make for the kids during the summer in Baltimore. So it’s a really nostalgic taste for me.

Here in Mexico City (and I believe in other parts of the country as well) we have that same thing as the "lime sour", if you are walking around downtown you'll see adapted shopping carts being pulled with lots of glass bottled mineral water, a bag of limes a plate of salt and a big block of ice, you ask for one and it will be prepared at the moment. The majority of people call it "Tehuacán preparado" my grandma loves it, always after shopping or visiting a museum we'll get one to share. She says when se was a kid, in the 60's, was one of the only "treats" they could afford, since it has been always very cheap. This video was so cool, I love your channel.

To be quite honest, I accidentally stumbled upon your channel, and at first, I was not a fan whatsoever. But I kept seeing videos on my feed that piqued my interest, this being one of them. I don't think there's really much of anything I could say against you or this channel, this is so wholesome. Really dig your videos now, and your demeanor! I hope you keep it up chief! I hope I can stop by the shop some day
