My sister in law went to yalls store for me to pick up some candy, and first of all, thank yall for staying open past yalls closing time, and second, I was able to talk to Mrs. Terry on the phone, and she is the sweetest lady 💗 thank you for running around the store to get my candy. It was brought all the way back to Louisiana and was absolutely delicious 😋

Up until about 2002, the Jolly Rancher factory was just a mile straight south of where we lived. I loved the smell in the air when they made the green apple candy. My mom hated it!

Very wise to wear a mask when adding the cinnamon. I learned the hard way by adding double the cinnamon oil, then leaning over the bowl. I don’t recommend it unless you want chemical burns on your face. 😂I looked like I was sunburnt hanging upside down.

I liked the idea of the hook on the wall for pulling the candy. I'm going to have to make something like that for when I make my former neighbor's home made cider vinegar taffy recipe they brought down from Scranton, PA after WW2 when her husband retired from the Air Force in the late 40's. When I was a kid we would come from all over the neighborhood when we smelled it cooking.

Only 72 lbs? Thats only a 3rd of the weight of pieces we used to make for candy canes. And its some amature hour watching the vapour from the color amd flavor being added never seen it that bad. We used to make Sriracha flavor candy immagine if we let it smoke like that. The citric acid they let get everywhere for warheads you add like 3 bags off powder between the citric and tartaric acids. These guys have a long way to go for mastery of the craft.
