My father Dennis Pritchard had a Series 1.5 coupe (OBU 608F) in oplescent metallic blue. How lucky was I to be driven to school in it! Wonderful car.

I had a very early flat floor E-Type, registered in California as a 1960 model. It must have been very close to 9600 HP in arrangements.

The first 386 cars had OBL (outside bonnet latch) the t-tool in his hand typifies it. I had a roadster OBL they had 308 rear ends that would allow them to do 150 mph. I had mine fine tuned and got up to 145+ with half pedal left. I pulled off the turnpike. Raised the bonnet and the exhaust manifold was red hot. Wish i had it today. !!!!!

I've loved these cars since I was a kid in the early 60s, having built a detailed large-scale plastic model at that time. My current car, an all-black Nissan 370Z sport coupe with 6-speed manual transmission is about as close to an E-type Jag as I will ever get.

My Mother and Father worked at Browns lane GEC in 58/59, My mother told me she was there when the first E type was rolled out of the factory. The whole office emptied into the car park to look at it. She remembers it being blue though, was this the only prototype?

The first production RHD FHC registration 1 VHP was opalescent dark blue, maybe it was that they saw.
