Interesting how LPL is expanding interest. I don’t know if LPL receive requests, but every time I see his videos I have a different interpretation of my own security. It maybe interesting to have a LPL security scale, knowing that seems all locks can be picked maybe is very useful to have a ranking based on skill set to pick. 0 for absolute newbie and 10 for LPL+BosniaBill!
@MillionFoul4 жыл бұрын
This has been a suggestion for a long time, and the reason LPL doesn't do it is because he's constantly improving at the craft. If he rates a lock as say, a five today, in a year, that will no longer be accurate, and that five would be a different difficulty level than a lock from yesteryear rated at a five.

I'd never picked a lock before, but was able to pick the transparent lock in about one minute. Next, I tried my front door (an old Kwikset deadbolt)... I managed to pick it in about five minutes! Not bad, for someone with absolutely no skills. Then, I tried an old Master lock No. Five... so far, it has alluded me. But, I'll keep at it. So, thanks for introducing me to a fun new hobby. EDIT: I switched to a rake and that No. Five opened right up in about 5 seconds!

hey @LockPickingLawyer unrelated to this specific video, but I picked my first lock today. our office lady at work went on holiday and left a stash of pens locked in her desk draw. I've watched hundreds of your videos and like to think I have an adequate understanding of how they work. I was able to quickly figure out that it was a wafer lock, and likely a cheap one. I got a paperclip half unbent it so it still had the small inner loop, pushed it into the lock and turned. it popped open first time. I don't think I would have ever attempted that if your channel didn't teach me how locks worked, or that most locks are poor quality and can be easily picked with rudimentary tools. thanks to you the techs at work have pens for the next few weeks :)

One thing I appreciate on these now that I've spent the last couple years following Bosnian Bill and LPL is that since the locking lug is directly attached to the end of the core (with no spring action and whatnot) these locks, despite being cheap and old and not even high quality, are non-shimmable. That they have security pins, even the older ones, is pretty cool, didn't know that. One that I have I managed to seize up pretty bad while taking apart, so I only saw the last standard pin, they seem to use small pins (Master size maybe or something similar anyway)
