My gramma before she died was a big Leafs fan. My father before he died and myself, Canadiens fans. When my gramma died in 2006 the very next game was vs Toronto. As she was laying in the casket, I went up to her and silent said "were gonna beat you on Saturday". Souray won the game for Montreal with the fake slapshot and slid it in short side. I'll never forget that and couldn't wait for him to be on this podcast.

I'll always remember when Souray and Zdeno Chara came to Sweden during the 2004-05 lockout. The two of them played D for Färjestad and took them all the way to the finals. They would most likely have won the gold if not for Henrik Lundqvist who played against them in the finals (Lundqvist had 3 shutouts in 5 games during that final). So Souray and Chara got the silver instead. Imagine Souray and Chara playing D together, opposing forwards must have been nervous going into Sheldon & Zdeno's end 😄 Souray's stats for Färjestad was pretty good though, in 54 games he had 10 goals, 14 assists, +7 and 194 PIMs. Chara played 46 games and had 13 goals, 20 assists, +27 and 214 PIMs.

This was a really great episode. Knucks and Souray have been through so many similar experiences and so could relate on so many subjects. Souray was one of my favourites. Every time Markov used to set him up all my friends used to scream "Souray smash!" I saw him out and about once but he looked like he was in a mood so glad I didn't bother him. But seems like such a good guy. Also, man did that Oilers management and ownership sound horrible.

@BobsUruncle-dl7cs8 ай бұрын
Firing the Medical Staff was throwing smoke on the real assholes who made Edmonton a destination to avoid, by the way todays Oilers are still being remediated by the same thing that was just starting to tune them in when Sheldon was an Oiler.
