Dantonio is a great coach, no question about it. If Michigan State had the same resources as OSU, Alabama, or other top elite programs, it would be a national championship contender. Very few coaches do more with less as well as Dantonio, very few.

As a UM fan, totally agree with you. From this day forward, Michigan better play with a chip on their shoulder, and stop being satisfied with history. This should be a wake up call for the program to start walking and stop talking. There is NO EXCUSE to lose to a team like that with a top-10 recruting class AT HOME! I still like Harbaugh, but man, this puts the Wolverine Program at crossroads. Dantonio keeps out classing us every year. Not even a fumbled punt miracle can motivate us enough to beat a less talented team. The UM fan base is furious now, and its time for this program to be great again more than ever.

Fact is Michigan has won half a national title in 70 years. Your a consistently very good 9-3 10-2 but almost never truly great. And the style advantage of having a physical Stanford team in a finesse PAC-12 doesn't translate to Michigan and the big ten
@User311297 жыл бұрын
They tied three games in 1992. You don't know what would happen if OT was there. Many people feel they were screwed in 2006 and the #3 team in the country got to play for the title for once. They were an inch, literally, away from playing for the title last year. But they're mediocre. Ok....

never said mediocre, read the post again, i might have undersold michigan a little bit ill admit en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Michigan_Wolverines_football_seasons 9 top 5 finishes in 70 years in the AP poll. Thats a very very good program but in that time span your probably closer to a top 12 program than a top 5 thats all I'm saying

Spot on Mike. Its obvious that MSU plays more with their hearts then Michigan. Dantonio is a way better coach then Harbaugh by far. just look at the NFL draft the past 10 years. not to mention Dantonio is mostly getting 2-3 stars as to Michigan is getting 4-5 star players.GOOOOO GREEEEEEEEN

I can tell this game now means more to Michigan fans because I saw the "Beat State" towels in the stands. They never used to do stuff like that. This was just an easy win for Michigan in past years. I think MSU finally realized they need to pay a great head coach and his assistants to have a consistently competitive team. Saban doubled his salary when he left East Lansing for LSU.
@johnburkardt21895 жыл бұрын
And UM's 21-7 win wasn't a big win because WE got smacked by OSU. Check that 0-4 against OSU only coach to go 0-4 against the Bucks. Hey Harbaugh you better smack Day or you're going to get "heated up."

Mike was getting Dogged all week by Wolverine fans, Just for the Spartans (who aren't very good this year), to give them their first L of the Season. Not only that, but Eight of the Ten years Spartans have won and Harbaugh is 1/4 in rivalry games. So yeah, If I was Mike, i'd be going off as well.

I agree that MSU does embrace being an underdog and he does bring the hate when this game is played. But I noticed the same thing happened to UM that happened to MSU. You came into a game off of a bye week and got gut punched. You learn that you can't make huge mistakes, especially against a squad that has inferior talent. MSU overlooked ND and got smacked. But after that, the message was clear. Now Michigan faces the same dilemma. Kudos to my Spartans for getting gritty and playing up a notch, but based on the talent and money spent, this should never happen to the winged-helmet warriors.

its funny because all the announcers picked Michigan to win. they all said MSU could not stop sucha great offense. now its an offense that is garbage. great to garbage in 1 day. @peterf46207 жыл бұрын
chief 2017 What Michigan needs is that go 2 quarterback that is consistent. Not Wilton Speight or John O’Korn. On the other hand, I think both MSU and Michigan are going to struggle against top ranked teams. Yes, MSU has a quality quarterback.

harbaugh is a good coach. I'm actually surprised that Michigan does not have a better playing qb. I met harbaugh at training camp for the lions. He gave his practice jersey to a fan. thought that was really cool
@peterf46207 жыл бұрын
chief 2017 Yes, I agree! Harbaugh is a good coach. If not even a better person. It is frustrating to see a good football program like Michigan, not having a field general under center. Developing a solid consistent quality quarterback takes a lot of time. That is cool that you met him in person. He was on the Detroit Lions?
