I got an 85 inch Samsung and love love love the size! A 98 inch would be ideal for eyes about 10 feet back from the tv. (The exception is 10 feet back would be too close for watching talking heads in an 20 minute interview). I think most people would love to trade off large screen size over OLED’s perfect black levels, vibrant fireworks in a dark sky & best contrast in shadows. My advice? Go big, people! TCL is my favorite brand because reliability and common sense user friendly. Glad they are making 98 inch tvs and hope the price drops over time. My friends with an awesome home theatre (ceiling mounted projector) would have loved to use this 98 inch TCL if it had been available. Why? Because Front projection screens do not have the black levels of flat panel displays because ambient light in the room (flat panel displays absorb most of the ambient light instead of scattering reflected light). Contrast & good black levels make a huge difference in the quality of the display

Nice to see you looking at TCL TV's. I hope when the TCL C935 hits the US market you'll take a look at the 75in version. Most reviewers are likely to look at the 65in, but unlike normal TV models, the local dimming zones are drastically increased. 1080 on the 65in, 1920 on the 75in. It'd be great to hear how the 75in performs in comparison to the 65in.
@themaestro57452 жыл бұрын

Lovin' all your vids. Great info, concise and appears to be unbiased to brand or model. Love the extra humour thrown in by the wife. Hilarious. So currently doing my research and in the market for a new TV. I'm a movie nut, so plan on going big when it comes time to invest in the new purchase. I've seen your other posts on the Samsung Frame and got to see one in person (mind you it was the 43" in a lawyer's office at our firm and it was fantastic albeit the 2021 model). Was originally set on either the 75" or 85" of the Frame. Currently at our local electronics dealership, there's about a $3000 to $1500 difference between the 85" Frame and this TCL 98" model. Frame being the lesser of the two (currently on sale so it's about $3000 less, but regular price difference about $1500). I know you were mentioning in a previous post with the Frame about the issue with the HDR and blacks/near blacks not being captured visibly and as sharp with the Frame. I've always been of the mindset of never going on the cheap when it comes to big purchases that one will have around for a few years, so willing to spend a bit more to get a better quality of product. But here I'm torn, love The Frame from what I've seen and it's features. If you had a choice between these two models, which would you go for if a couple of K's wasn't as much of an issue? Is the HDR issue with the FRAME that noticeable? As mentioned, I'm a HUGE movie buff (not so much in using the TV for gaming), so that's where my purchase is coming from. Thanks for any advice/feedback you can give. ☺ Cheers and keep up the great reviews!😁😁

A comparison between this and the Samsung Qn90a 98 inch would be awesome. I'm looking for a 98inch to use for gaming and HDR movies.

Forget about that! Tcl has narrow viewing angles, no match for samsung qn series! Prepare for the 98 QN100B.

The choice is simple for me, Sony Master Series OLED quality every day, every night compared to TCL! I now have a Sony 77" A9G and want to make the step to the 83" A90J 😍

As an oled owner I'd say the biggest downside to all these tv's (whether it's oled, or qled or whatever) is the vertical banding/or dirty screen effect, noticeable on certain backgrounds (like darker areas which aren't quite black). No tv is perfect & these mega expensive panels don't escape that fact, so I wouldn't stress over some smaller issues (like blooming on va panels with dimming zones) when the panel is never perfect anyway. Size does matter though (as does contrast), so just enjoy the big screen experience.

A giant screen 😹. I enjoyed your unboxing. The legs are easy to install. It can fit in my new house. Bcos my new house is empty. With a good price, it will be a good buy. This TV is mind blowing!

put the Picture to "Movie" setting, gives you the nice warm picture as it is intended to be, without being over saturated
