After driving for a dozen years, I've spent the last year as an instructor. Gotta say, this video really makes me miss those good days, being able to be on the road. Wife and young kids are my reason for the change in pace. I love it, but there's nothing like a nice sunny day, out running down the road. Thanks for sharing! Safe travels.

O-H-I-O Porter greetings 🇺🇸 Cabovers Rule! This is the 9800 with the flat floor? Cool, Dude! That set-back axle was supposed to give better mpg & maneuvering. That’s about the best mpg in a truck I’ve heard of! Buying it from the original owner is quite cool! Why did he sell it? Beautiful territory by the way! Hope to see more of the cab & maybe a walk around. Good stuff. Hope you enjoyed the trip. I come from a trucking family & I’ve been around many older trucks…50s & newer. We had many cabovers…Marmon, Freightliner, KW, GMC & Ford. Blessings my friend.🤩🥰✌️

Saw you had posted a video and clicked on it without reading the whole title. I kept thinking there was something wrong with my audio for a little bit. Seems quieter in the cab than I expected. That’s better fuel mileage than my old 83 Silverado 4x4 got.

Jax, Galesburg, Illinois here. My wonderful wife, Michelle and I drove that route from Flagstaff, Arizona up through Moab, Utah a couple years ago to visit the kids. I appreciated the video of Moab downtown because when we went through there, it was getting very dark, Moab looked like a nice little town to visit with all the Four-wheel-drive vehicles Cruisin the streets at night. I can say one thing, we looked to see if we could find an affordable hotel room near Moab and no such thing existed.

I drove an mid 90s international standard cab with a n14 and a Pittsburgh adjustable chip, original owner was big into big loud power all the fancy stuff. Sadly all it did when you were pulling weight is make the egts go through the roof, not much for extra speed. I heard he had a truck similar to the one you just bought, that had a hot mechanical cat under the cab but never got to drive it 😞

Love this "raw" footage :) I think with the "fixed-cam" idea, we viewers can take part of so much beautiful US nature, that you see every day! And when Jax sounding of on random stuff :P And if you drive on roads you know, its fine to hear about thing along the route (like the white arrow on the rock). Or if its a brand new road for you, you thoughts on what you see. "Oh snap. This downhill when I come out of the tunnel, would be dangerous in snow" Maybe have this type of videos as a sub-category on your channel, with its own thumbnail art/playlist/Title-type? Maybe use the same Jax-intro, but with its own intro-ending? Added a few seconds with "With Jax on the road" on the screen, to the main intro. I think it could be a good move, to have one type of video with this job from A to B (Like the toilet), one of Truck maintenance/new trailer/ranching/etc, and one of raw footage of driving the roads/including random thoughts of what ever you have in mind. Best of luck, and be safe.

And you are right that N14 was one of the best engines ever made and you could get insane HP and Torque out of them. I have an ISX now but I think the N14 was a better engine.
