Anyone else think it's a really bad idea for the ammo box to be placed under the NUCLEAR backpack thrusters?

It's Universal Century, not AD 2017. There are lots of Voodoo black magic in the UC, like Minovsky Particles, for example. So, I'm sure that little nuclear reactor is not gonna blow up if hit by a bazooka round or a mega particle canon. Rest assured that the ammo pack is perfectly fine sitting on the Zaku's butt. :)

The nuclear reactor is actually located inside the MS itself, around the waist I think, yeah hitting the thruster makes it explode along with the ammo box with it, but I don't think it'd go nuclear. On a side note, you're talking about the MS of a pilot who refuses to wear a space suit because he doesnt like getting hit.

I actually just won this kit at an arcade in Orange County called Round1 it was 2,400 tickets. Pretty stoked, not as excited as I was when I thought it was chars zaku2?but still excited, got it for cheaper than I would have payed at a store so that’s a positive!

Part of me feels like the location of the ammo drum lends itself to some problems if it were a real machine. The thruster exhaust would probably heat up the ammo and make it explode unless there was some serious heat shielding and coolant running through the drum.

I use the extra hole in the back pack for the heat hawk because the hole on the side skirt is loose

Yep, that's the way to go! I prefer the heat hawk on the back skirt anyway, it's more out of the way and seems more practical.

ZakuAurelius the only problem with putting it on the back pack is that the red plastic rubs off and gets on the heat hawk when you take it off

On the subject of the perennial heat hawk accessory, I would actually like to use it all the time. Problem is that Bandai often refuses to make it in such a manner that the model's hands will actually hold the damn thing by the handle! Too often the handles are designed too thin so that the model's hands just slide over until they stop by hitting the blade bit. I freaking hate it; ruined the System Weapon kit that had a customizable heat hawk.

I only intend to pick up one Origin kit, and I think that's the Waff, since it's pretty unique among Zaku variants, being a prototype. Besides the interchangeable arms and simple design, it's articulation scheme is identical to the Zakus, right?

I prefer the Denim/Slender Zaku i. Unfortunately my go to store was selling it for 20 usd. That's only $5 more than what I paid for it at Anime Expo, but it still bugged me. I'll eventually buy another one.

This is the MS-05S Char's Zaku I, and i heard Bandai will release the HGGO#15 which is MS-05 Char's Zaku I. Im excited. :)

The only weak point of the Origin Zaku I kits is the lack of a command antenna imo. Otherwise they are home runs.
