Greg Bedard: Drake Maye Looks Like a 10 Year VETERAN QB

On Tuesday's edition of Felger and Mazz, Greg Bedard of the Boston Sports Journal, joined the show. While recapping the Patriots 22-28 loss at the hands of the LA Rams, Bedard made the point that this was Drake Maye's best game as a quarterback, and that the rookie played like a 10 year veteran.

I hold my breath every time Maye runs but he for sure could have gotten that TD when they were on the 2. RPO if the pass isn’t there then run it. If he becomes a dual threat QB then defenses will have a spy. This opens up some space for the receivers. I think they should tell Drake “Don’t be silly but if you think you have the room take it with your feet”

My .02 statement: LIke Brady was EVERYTHING on the Pats, esp as the talent level declined, Maye is responsible for whatever spark/energy/action is happening. RE not starting earleir -hello conussion?? Line play and lack of talent coupled with refusing to slide will send this QB down the Tua path.

Greg Bedard never played football. Greg Bedard has never worked for an NFL team as a scout nor as a personel person. Greg Bedard enters Gilette stadium the same way we do, through the ticket turnstyles. Why does Greg Bedard get any acknowledgement as a football expert/insider. A sports journalism degree? The world needs less Greg Bedards. And Mike Reiss'. And Phil Perrys. And Tom Currans. And Albert Breers. And Michael Hollys. And Karen Guerigians. And these are just writers, i left out TV and radio experts. Please trim the fat. A three win team doesnt need all these insiders and experts.

Calling it a “very bad” problem is a massive over statement. The kid is great. At times makes a dumb decision or two, but compared to other rookies? Come on. I mean, just look at JA15’s rookie year

The fucking polarized takes are insane. He sucks, or hes literally god. Athleticism doesnt mean you know how to play QB. Bourne TD was good NFL QB play, the fumble and the INT were not. Its a decision making position and his decisions so far have led to a single win. That being said hes clearly good enough to be out there but lets please cool it with the hot takes either way.
