99-06 chevy/gmc 5 speed swap information

When doing a manual T case swap, what are you doing to make the wiring work? I have the bcm out of a manual transmission/T case truck… did not get the T case harness out of said truck but did end up getting another donor manual T case harness… just want to know to keep the service 4wd message from displaying.. my truck is a 99 Silverado and the donor transmission/case is out of an 01 sierra 4.3

When installing a nv35 or 45 do you shimm the throw out bearing? Or just mount it to the trans and throw it all in?

I heard about needed a spacer ... is that an automatic thing or is it with the nv3500 too? I have a 01 silverado with the lm7 5.3 and going with the nv3500 out of a 01 as well

What about driveshafts? I'm doing it on 03 5.3 4x4 just like the one in the video, ext cab, short box, GMC 1500 fully loaded. I can't find any info on driveshafts? Thanks a lot.

You should go to a driveshaft shop and have them make and install new ones

drive shafts are all the same only difference may be the yoke some are the same and slide right in if not swap the yoke

There's nothing other then back up lights and speed sensor

So I've got the 4l60e with the dog leg transfer, going nv3500 will I need the input shaft?if so do you have a part number?

So I’m in the middle of the swap and can’t figure out how to make the truck think it’s in either neutral or park it won’t engage the starter to turn over any advice?

i always either zip tied the neutral safety switch up or looked up the pin out and tied the wires together there are 5-6 wires two of them are switched 12v two are park/neutral i tied those four together and always worked fine

Tyler I did the swap to a 2000 GMC 2 Wheel Dr. had a 4L 60 in it. Put a Tremec Inn at five speed you say you do nothing to the computer and it works fine besides it shows it’s in second gear or something like that is that correct, and you also said something about you unplug your transmission and just tie the wires up well on mine. I did do that, but I had to take the module off the transmission shifter side and plug it back in and tie it up with the wiring or the truck would not start everybody’s telling me you have to go into the computer and get rid of the automatic transmission. I did that and everything seems to work properly beside my air-conditioning. He does not want to work when the truck is sitting there idling it works fine once you takeoff and start, cruising the people around here, telling me if I don’t turn the automatic off, it’ll go into limp mode and will not go over 2000 RPMs. I put my stock ECM back in with the automatic in it air-conditioning worked right but it did throw antilock brakes code but the speedometer was way off on the truck. The trick is geared different I guess was trying to get a hold of you to see if this all is your information is all correct because my electrical guys around here says it’s no way it. Can you leave the automatic in the computer

Nv3500 vs nv4500 behind a 5.3? I want to tow, I’ve towed my boat in my Dakota with the 3500 and it does just fine, but I want to be able to tow heavier

the swap its self is pretty much the same but it depends if you are going 4x4/2wd there are a few differences in the 2wd lengths they make a short shaft and long shaft ect

All you have to do is get a 32 spline input shaft and swap it out its 40$ on ebay

I’m going to use the getrag nv3500 that has a 27 spline tcase so I can still use my auto trac tcase
