Loving this. Used to live in Tassie myself for a few years but had to move back to SA for work reasons (and family). Hoping to move back ASAP. One of my goals is to be well off enough to afford a Porsche 911 and do that drive from Hobart to Queenstown/Strahan, especially around Derwent Bridge and Lake Burbury etc. such a great stretch of the Lyell Highwau

These videos have been immensely inspirational to myself as someone who is just about finishing uni and looking to start adventuring! They're like an oasis of fresh information in the breaks between work sessions. I'm looking at the himalayan myself, but I reckon it'll be at least a couple of years before I can even think about affording it. Rock on dude!

Glad you are enjoying the series mate, and it will be one of the best things you do if you get out and explore, if that's on a motorbike, push bike, backpacking by foot, it's worth the effort, you'll learn and experience so much more than you could imagine and you never know where it may lead you. Don't right off getting a Himalayan until way further into the future, mine is second hand which knocked off a lot from the price, the engines are rock solid so an old one that gets you out there exploring you can get for a lot cheaper, you don't need anything facing to explore. Hope your studies go well, I am about to head off again to explore, this time I think I'll head west......

The roads and terrain remind me of the mountains in Oaxaca, Mexico, lots of exposed rock, and plenty of curves to keep you entertained. Our Himalayans were made for this sort of riding, such a joy to ride! Oh, and ya, those mining buckets do seem similar to the ones in the movie Temple of Doom.

The first time I went driving in Tassie I was with the kids and they were rather amazed at just how much breathtaking scenery was flying past their car window. I used to tell them that the reason the Nullabor plain was so flat was that God had scraped off half of Western Australia's scenery, scrunched it up, and dropped it on Tasmania.

I have the smallest lightest gimbal for my main camera, but it's the extra weight (a Royal Enfield mechanic as already told me I am over weight on the bike) and finding somewhere to store it safely on the bike which is the issue (space is at a premium). So I'll have to reassess what I take and how I pack it for the next trip, hopefully I can fit the gimbal in. But yes I cringe at the walking shots too.

Thanks mate, glad you like it. The tent is a big agnes tiger wall ul2. they now have a new version with a side entry which I think would be better, it would make it way easier to move around in the tent and getting in and out. It is a thru hiking tent (multiple days hiking from one spot to another), so it is super light.
