@@MartinHervy We had to analyze circuits that had a bunch of different branches using Kirchoff's Laws for Current and for Voltage. So the joke evolved that whenever one of us sees a huge rat's nest of power cables, someone has to say, "Use KVL!" or "Use KCL!"
