Hey man, i don´t know if you even or ever check your comments on your video, Im thinking of buying between this XC70 and a V70T5 or S60 T60. But íts hard to find someone who has a XC70 to talk about. What can you tell me about this car? Do they share the same engine with the other V/S 70/850? Being 226 hp? As for shockabsorvers/suspensions, i have a hard time finding parts such as these, and when i do the prices are very expensive, unless the shock absorvers / suspensions from a simple V70 can be used in a XC70, is it possible? Because they are far cheaper? As for other things what can you talk about or mention about it, If you don't mind giving a little testament about your XC70 thank you again
@perspectivedrives49203 жыл бұрын
This car in the video is the same as an XC70! They have a very similar engine to the 850's but I'm pretty sure it is a little bit different. The V70, XC70, S70 etc. can share the same engine but it all depends on the drivetrain of the car, the model (for example the V70R has more power), as well as the options. For example on these 1st generation V70's (1996-2000) they have 3 different engine options. If you are in the US a good place to get parts is FCPEuro, they might be expensive, but they have a lifetime warranty, even on shocks and brakes! Otherwise keep an eye out for parts car online, or local junk yards (if you have them). The suspension from a normal V70 should be able to swap directly over the an XC70, but it will have a lower ride height as the XC70 has more ground clearance from its suspension. If you do some searching on Volvo forums you should be able to find answers to see what parts are interchangeable between cars. The XC70 is a great car, but they are getting harder to find so parts are becoming more scarce. If you're going to buy any Volvo (or car in general) make sure it has good service history as parts can easily get expensive. It is fantastic in the snow. With proper maintenance these cars can run a very long time! But also be aware that some cars have little finicky problems that other cars might not. They are great cars, but if you can get a local mechanic to look over the car before you buy it that would help you avoid some potential future headaches. Hope this helps! Remember that no car is perfect and every car will take some money to keep running. Hope this helps if you have any other questions let me know! 😊👍

@@perspectivedrives4920 Thank you and i wish more people would be like you, to take the time to write something as half of what you said.` Im from europe actually, so any volvo here is a beater at this point, hard to find one in decent state, and those who arent they ask for gold for them. AS for the first versio nof xc70 like 1998 the rear suspensions are hard to find and each cost 500 dollars here in europe and hard to assemble on the wagon besides some extras things that must be purchased and replaced too. i dont know if regular shocks can be put on the back of a xc70 from a regular v70 for example, i read on swedespeed that some say yes others say no.. so im not sure to be honest

@@SupremeLordEnki Thank you so much! I want to keep my channel as real and helpful as I can as I grow. Yeah that makes sense, I'm sorry I won't be as much help because I don't know the market in Europe or where to source parts, but hopefully you'll find a good place! I can't say with 100% certainty if regular V70 shocks will work on the rear of the XC70, in my mind they should, but they won't provide the lift that the XC70 shocks will. So if you put them on just be aware you could lose the ground clearance, and you would have a negative rake of the car if you didn't switch out the front shocks to normal V70 stuff as well!

I think they're both great cars! But I personally like the look of the 1998 better!
@nicolletelangdon26942 жыл бұрын
@@perspectivedrives4920 I'm sorry, I meant a 2002 or a 1999. There are two for sale, both brown. However, the 2002, is more of a dark brown, called Java brown, while the 1999 is called sandstone. The 02 has 157K miles on it(they want $6,000.00 for it) and the 99 has 190K miles on it($3,600.00). I honestly LOVE the look of the 99 but, logically speaking the 02 is "newer" with less miles. From what I've heard and seen, they can last forever. I saw a kid who had an 02 with 325K miles on it and it still runs like a champ. He said his dad gave it to him. My real issue is that I don't know much about mechanics, though honestly speaking, I want to buy the 99.
@perspectivedrives49202 жыл бұрын
@@nicolletelangdon2694 I think they could both be great! And if they've been taken care of well they can continue to last a long time if you take care of them! I'd suggest taking them to a mechanic and having them look over the cars and tell you what they think! Some shops will even do something called a PPI (Pre Purchase Inspection) for about $50 and give you a big report of how everything is on the car. If there are some things that need repair you can use that to bargain a better price with the seller!
