Just curious.. so you don't run a wire from bottom bolt of starter straight to starter relay (solenoid)?

You won't be able to get the transmission out either. That's why I took off my long headers and replaced them with short headers. Plus the pipes are all over the starter. The header will have to come off even with the mini starter. The mounting base is the same size and that is what will not fit.

Still doen't make sense because if you run the short wire from the small terminal to the constant power on the starter the solenoid will have constant power. Guess I'm not an electrical expert and your car starts!! Just doesn't make sense to me. All the other videos on Ford firewall solenoids show a different wiring setup.

I don't understand the 3" wire going from the small terminal on the starter to the hot wire on the starter. That would put constant power to the new starter solenoid. ???

No, this way your existing starter solenoid powers both the solenoid on the starter and the power to the starter when you turn the key.

Hey brother great video hey by chance you don’t have to run the thin wire up to the start of solenoid and flip other wire to the starter solenoid

Top bolt is easier to get from the front of the engine with several long extensions and you wouldnt have to pull the header

Extensions no need to remove the headers

So it should always go to the left side of the solenoid?

TK TK I think you should check with your specific starter manufacturer. In this case, they supplied a wiring diagram and it said to use the one stud in the video.

Like the vid, and the starter. How much was the starter?
@MGMotorsports5 жыл бұрын
Mike Dambowic had it sitting around for a while don't remember exactly how much I got it for, probably $150-$200 ish. I think it was from summit racing at the time. Really good starter though.

Bruce Nickens I got rid of the EGR and secondary air injection (smog pump) so I have codes for those.
