Yes, but not because the car was knocked out of alignment. The rack housing sits just behind the trunk and that housing was damaged. The entire steering rack was replaced, which would necessitate an alignment. The car drove perfectly after the rock incident. The shop actually suggested continuing to drive it while they were gathering the necessary parts.
