I would kill to ride a big bore 2 stroke again. My dad had a 1987 CR500 that he helped me rebuild when I was old enough to ride big bikes. One of my favorite memories is being 16 ripping up and down the beach at the lake near our favorite riding trails on that bike. Scary fast.

Right on if any bike was better then then CR500 !!! I would definitely say the KTM just having the experience with a Older KTM 250 I Had built for my brother !!! I was kind of jealous how much better it ran and rode as far as the motor it's self was concerned!!!? I told my little bro that I really believe his bike could win alot of amateur and novice class events the way that things power band was so linear and had like no real range it was not running optimally and it was basically stoke bike other then modernized braking suspension and plastics it was a really Kool bike !!! I believe it wasa WR 250 with and wider ratio gear box for open crosscountry and desert type riding nothing like a full motocross bike at least when I first laid my hands on it and started taking some old Cr250 parts that where a bit new technology and a lot more sensible for what we wanted it to do !!! I kept telling my brother if I was to do a lot of mods I was running on my 500 that thing would be just like WOW !!! It is the best running two stoke I've ever ridden and my 500 is only these last handful of years become fairly close to that wide a powerband !!! Funny thing I knew that in sixth gear flat out it would do at least 100 mph and he sprouted the balls one fine day flew passed me a good 20 mph faster then my CR500 in fifth gear fully pinned and just sailed right on by me we were on pavement and smooth road slowed that to happen !!! But just before he did that I smoked by him a quarter of a mile or less through a windier part of the highway as he had a good five ti ten minute lead on me before I even made my departure !!! Letting him have a good lead because I knew I would catch up with him and I love sneaking up on people and flying passed them before they ever knew they were being shadowed !!!! Boy he showed me and I was like shit and he didn't stop he maintained his lead until stopped off at the little red store three miles north of town !!! God I loved that he did that on bike I built for him !!!!

What a great video! This is truly what motocross is for most of us. Not fighting for 1st all the time because out of 25 guys on the track only one is going to win. You could see the power superiority from the jump, def keep your eye on the t500s cause they are for sure a force to be reckoned with . Like they brought gp to moto like triumph is doing but even better . Like to see t500 vs Kong and your other conversions maybe hook a gauge up somehow to see temp differences as well cause something about electrical cooling just sounds cool let alone it actually being cool and working better then stock.

I’ll say this, if THE RIGHT rider gets on kong or megladon or even a brc 500, THEY SHREDDING.. like let’s say 27 Malcom Stewart gets on kong… which he could cause he’s factory husky, he would put that machine top 3 if not podium 80% of the season with the final 20% being outliers … but until we the ppl and riders stand for a change, our displacement issues will never be solved

Someone should work on variable length pipes now we're talking efi. Have it mapped in to revs, throttle, load, lean angle etc. That could completely transform the tractabilty of the power delivery.......it only needs to be a few inches of header, out at the pipe end, telescoping......
