It's hard to compete with 250's on a track with a 500. I know I've done it a lot in the past. But get them out in the open country where the 500 can stretch it's legs. Then it's a whole different ball game. The best thing you can do to a 500 to make it better is a good steering damper. Makes it handle like a dream. Good video though.
@999lazer3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for watching Dennis. I rode one of Nev's CR500's once (it was a '98) at the track and it felt like it was trying to wrestle a bear! I'd love to find some open country and open one up for real though!
@dr.hugog.hackenbush94433 жыл бұрын
Never had headshake on any of my 500s, but thats most likely due to my setup.
@greensocks45073 жыл бұрын
Rode KX500's for a few years, had two from new. No steering damper required on the green bike when you're going fast . A better Baja desert ride than an an MX bike though. That's where the CR500 shined. Or, having watched this video, the word might be 'shines '. Not bad, well done.

Great video as always max !! Bring back fox foxhill for gp's ! I watched the shell advanced international back in 95 /96 with mike Healy on the 360 ktm against smets on the 510 berg on a sloppy track and boy he didn't win but i will never forget how he rang the neck out of that and was very competitive. Love your vids . Nev is a ledge. Being south African and loving England deserves massive respect!!! Im very lucky having foxhill and farliegh in my commute love it !!
@999lazer3 жыл бұрын
Thanks paddy! There's been so many iconic races at this track. It would be so sick to see a GP there again one day. You're very lucky indeed, Foxhill isn't too far from me, but Farleigh is a trek! I've had a few very early starts to get to the VMXDN lol Thanks for watching as always dude

89 Honda's was a year to remember, brought the 250 ,brand new that year right off the show room it handled amazingly, first race i had on it i got the best hole shot i ever had and it stunned everyone.by the first corner i was so far in front off the pack that day i even stunned myself. as it was my first 250 race after jumping off 86 kx125 . unfortunately i didn,t win the race, it wore me down to get fourth, but i felt amazing, i was 17 years old, thanks for video max big reds bike looks amazing, like were still in 89

It may just be a rumor A story about a Boomer That rode a bike so mean He'd go by so fast, he could hardly be seen Oh so beautiful the sound It literally shook the ground A man strapped to a Rocket Ship He'd give the throttle a little blip For those that were in the know You boys were in for a show A little boy with his dad Asks, "Isn't that what you had?" He laughs and says to his son "No mere mortal can ride that bike You'll spend the rest of your life on a trike" As it flew by, the little boy swore "Wow Dad, that's a phuking 500 Big Bore!"
