It was 99hp only in the USA market. Everyone else could buy RC213V-S in it's basic config producing around 160hp or with "racing kit" producing almost 220hp.

A fully race ready motorbike would require too much maintenance.

@@jkim6200you're right, my mate was a racebike mechanic, (Worked for Pramac Racing & GASGAS Tech 3) And he'd built his own bike in the 90's it was fast AF but he was always having to change or repair something. He said it's normal. It's pretty obvious though isn't it, when something is tuned to the limit. The same with any race machine.

@@SayaGakBilangGini RC213V-S was sold in 2014. Surely ten years later there are bikes that are more powerfull. Honda's actual MotoGP bike has gained around 100hp in those ten years.

After 30 minutes on motorcycle TikTok, it becomes a blessing that this bike cost $184k. Too many “content creators” roll racing on brand new bikes with perfectly polished Pistas. Honda knows they’d just end up wrecked on an interstate by a guy that started on a 300 and “outgrew” it when he got a following a few months later lol

That's got to be one of the most beautiful bikes ever to come out of Japan. One of those next to a Ducati Desmosedici RR in my dream garage, please!

We never got a road going RC211V (it was in development but got canned) and 213V was severely overpriced and super limited in availability. A road going Vee sportsbike from Honda would surely pique some interests.

The red , blue and white color is paying homage to the RC 30 , personally I like the sound of RC 45 the most .

This red, white, and blue scheme is actually the traditional livery of the HRC race department (and also of its predecessor RSC). Look at Freddie Spencer's V3 NS500 or V4 NSR500 for the inspiration for the RC213V-S scheme. The iconic RC30 paintwork is predominantly four colours, red, white and light and dark blue, with gold striping separating the colour blocks.

To me, as a Honda supporter, it's a shame that Honda would not give a full daddy 213 V-S to consumers that was reliable and adjustable so that it can be ridden on the street. It should have 260 hp at the race setting and dialed back with a twist of the switch

This video says Honda racing motorcycles have not been offered to the public…. Ok let’s start in the 80s… ND5 RS250 and ND4 RS125.. those respective displacements were offered in newer and better versions “1985 ish NF5 RS250 NF4 RS125/ 1995 ish NX5 RS250 NX4 RS125 / 2000 ish NXA RS250” until 2009. They also sold a customer spec 500cc v twin NSR500v NX6…. It’s very misleading for this article to say Honda only offered street bikes to be converted into racers. Honda literally has offered REAL DEAL motogp bikes to customers since the 80s. They now sell the NSF250 moto 3 GP bike to the public. 😑😑😑

Buy one, wait 10 years, then sold it at 3 times the price, you will see lot of buyers to make an extra plus price to have it. This is marketting with investment well predicted

I don’t think it is able to win right out the box you can get cheaper bikes from the Italian brands with the same technology and more power. They took the technology such as the valves snd transmission out of the bike that was making it a winner.

If you got the $$$ to buy it, you got the $$$ to get that max HP out of it. Its just marketing bull$hit to get around emissions and that epa crap. Anyone who cant afford one shouldn't be complaining when we have problems with the engineering on the common mans bike coming out of Japan. Kawasaki is the last of the big 4 with balls.

The issue wasn't power, quite evident when you look at the CBR1000RR and Fireblade of the same time with 180hp while even the less restricted RC213V-S had 160. They simply decided they didn't want to put a massive muffler on it like is usually the case with street bikes to stay as close to the original as possible. And because the US noise regulations are stupid that also meant having a rev limiter that's really low thus restricting the power a lot. Prime example my EU spec 2017 KTM RC390 bone stock is too loud for US noise regulations and I can barely hear that thing when riding, they have a different muffler specifically for the US to make them even more quiet
