I'm really pleased with this! It works like a charm kzbin.infoUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ Takes less time than my old electric sharpener because it can take more off the knife faster, and then it smooths out nicely with the finer grit polisher. I don't know how long it will last before the grit wears away, but I wouldn't mind having to replace it every once in a while.

I'm sorry to ask this, but did you read the instructions? Why are you turning it over to sharpen your knife? The black guide rotates. Also, did you pull the knife through slowly 5 times and then 3 times faster? One more thing and I saw a couple of people do this. You don't "saw" back and forth through paper with a knife to see if it's sharp. You should just be able to slice the paper in one long stroke. And, it seems you are using card stock. Card stock has heavier fibers which many sharp knives would grab and tear through. I do appreciate you taking the time to show us this video, though.

Youre kidding, right? He didn't read the instructions. Youre supposed to rotate the knife slots to the top. From the bottom, the angle of the grinding stone is all wrong.

For $10 and use a knife that cost $9 this would be ok. Using this item to sharpen a Wusthof Grand Prix you need to be taken out behind the shed. You use a stone or the Wusthof electric knife sharper ($134)

It would be nice if you had read the instructions on the product before attempting to review it.. There is a small clear cupped tray that collects the shavings from knives or what ever you are sharpening. You didn't even seem to know about it. Also you did not glide the knife along the sharpener. You sawed instead of glided. You did not rotate the cutting shaft to sharpen the particular tool you wanted to sharpen. You turned the sharpener upside down. If you are going to review a product, you should at least read the instructions and operate it correctly.

Dude your technique is all wrong .. you aren't supposed to do a to and fro motion . You're supposed to have a uni directional motion and then lift it up to resume from the starting position

What's up with the THUMBS DOWN? He tested out the product, so that we don't have to waste our own money buying it. This product is clearly not worth the headache. You're better off just sharpening your knives and scissors with a sandstone. Obviously, there will be a learning curve to sharpening your own household gadgets. But just keep practicing and you'll eventually get there! Thanks for the review. One thumbs up here.
