@joedoole35277 жыл бұрын
A lot of smaller agencies still have quantities of this load but most major metro departments have switched to newer more effective loadings such as Gold Dot, Federal HST/Tactical Bonded, Critical Duty, Ranger T series etc. However in the 90s and early 2000s this load was in 70% of the holsters across the US. Also BP is simply federals product code; they have a standard pressure 9BP, the +P+ "law enforcement" load 9BPLE etc. It's simply product code for the 9mm 115 Hi shok loading in various forms.

I recently switched to this ammo for my M9 Beretta. Great record for doing what it was designed to do. Very inexpensive to buy and practice with.
@rifleshooterchannel2085 жыл бұрын
This is not a requirement but if you plan on shooting a lot of it it might help to get a slightly heavier recoil spring in a 92 series gun.
@classicgunstoday19725 жыл бұрын
Rifle Shooter Channel i’ve thought about that and I think you can order a recoil buffer too. But the gun is pretty sturdy as is and the ammo, while hot isn’t really that hot from what I’ve read. And I don’t plan on shooting 1000 rounds of 9BPLE a week.
@rifleshooterchannel2085 жыл бұрын
ClassicGunsToday ClassicGunsToday Yeah I mean the border patrol didn’t have too many issues when they had the 92s so you should be fine. I heard their 96s got beat up pretty bad though when they were using what is essentially the .40S&W version of this load, it was 155gr at nearly 1300fps that is a monster round.
@classicgunstoday19725 жыл бұрын
Rifle Shooter Channel wow! I never knew they went to so heavy a load in 9mm. Thought they stuck to 9bple until the switch to .40 S&W.
@rifleshooterchannel2085 жыл бұрын
ClassicGunsToday ClassicGunsToday Oh sorry I should’ve clarified, the 96 is the .40 caliber version of the 92. That 155gr load was a .40 S&W load. It was hotter than even the 150gr Corbon loading.

This load can be fired in any 9mm rated for standard +P. Loads like Buffalo Bore, Underwood, even the Winchester Ranger T in +P+ are MUCH higher pressure than the 9BPLE. It was concocted with the S&W 5900 style of pistol in mind and is relatively low pressure for a 115 defensive loading. It is quite accurate though and can be effective as long as barriers are not encountered such as auto glass, thick jackets etc. Then it tends to fail and act like a FMJ.
@336W5 жыл бұрын
I have seen tests with the FBI 4 layers of denim, and it still opens up, fragments a bit, and penetrates approx 13.5".
@classicgunstoday19725 жыл бұрын
I just checked Buffalo Bore. They list 1406 fps out of a Beretta 92. The video here clocks Federal BPLE at 1325 fps. I clocked my M9 Beretta between 1322-1343 recently. Is the 50-80 fps difference worth the high cost of hyperammo like Buffalo or Underwood? The Federal to me is perfect for designed purpose

@justinv30807 жыл бұрын
Corpsie Corpsie The normal version of this round is actually pretty useless since it needs high velocity to expand the standard pressure usually won't expand at all especially from shorter barrels. Stick to HST guns that can't get the full potential of this

fires two shots with the sig and it jams. i just do not understand people. this is a load thats been around longer than many shooters these days has been alive. you'd think a pistol would run it. and if it were a glock, a beretta, or a smith and wesson it would. but not sig. why do people buy this trash? it costs as much as two shields and doesn't work!
@BuffRANGE5 жыл бұрын
What typically happens with this gun, is I'm left handed and with the harder recoiling +P and +P+, it causes the gun to rock more in my hand and I usually hit the mag release with my trigger finger. This then drops the mag ever so slightly and the next round jams because of it. It's one reason I want to get a 365, Hellcat or Shield.
@MrSGL215 жыл бұрын
@@BuffRANGE I have the sheild and it eats ammo that will chock a glock 17. feature wise the Hellcat is the new hotness. the p365 breaks strikers.

Velocity seemed anemic for a 5"barrel given the 9BPLE is rated at 1300 FPS. I believe Federal has seriously watered down a lot of their best rounds, to include the 9BPLE and HST's in recent years.
