An old boss of mine sold Nigel his F40 many years ago. I am not convinced it is genuinely Mansell's car, unless it has been registered in Italy now, it was always in the UK, my old boss bought and sold his car a few times, have detailed and driven about a dozen F40s. Amazing cars to work on and a dream to drive. The incredible thing is just how light the components are, the seats weigh next to nothing. You see lone people lifting the engine cover but that is a big no, as the flex can crack the roof. Always have two people lifting the rear carefully to keep it level, apart from the weight saving on the car, there is some heft to the rear cover.

Every time I see a detail job being done on a Ferrari I am absolutely astounded by the crudeness of the car. So much orange peel in the paint, seams that aren't even, joints in the bodywork that look like they were done in a high school shop class. I have had two Ferraris and I'm glad they're both gone. I just don't get it. Even a Porsche Cayman is better put together than this multi-million dollar car, not to mention the fact that it won't break something every time you drive it and will get 20+ mpg. I know the Ferraristis that read this will while and say that "I don't get it." They're right: I don't. Driveway jewelry.
@bikerboy4944Ай бұрын
F40s were built out of kevlar, a feature of the F40 is the weave should be visible, Ferrari applied the paint in very thin layers to save weight. A way to tell if an F40 has been painted is to check the weave, if you can't see it, it's been repainted. These cars were not built to look pretty but to be functional. If your cars had orange peel, chances are they've had paintwork, usually the paint is very good.
