For longer durations of blasting without constantly sucking air through a respirator you should consider a PAPR (powered air purifying respirator). Pure Flow 3000 makes a nice all in one hard hat with shield style. Just get a second battery for longer than 6-7 hours at a time.

@abhinavr83153 жыл бұрын
It's about cleaning and maintaining cars, if you don't clean the underside of your car. You won't get to know about new oil leaks or anything as everything looks greasy and black already. Plus being and older car you need to get these things overhauled once in a while so proper cleaning of car is necessary. Believe me it won't last this long if it's dirty all the time.

@@IAMDetailing is there any inexpensive ways to do this yourself or acquire/rent a dry ice blaster ? or is this strictly professional equipment use only ?
@IAMDetailing2 жыл бұрын
@@Mrennnn I would highly recommend having a professional do it, even if you can find someone to rent the machine to you. It's quite complex actually. The machine takes finesse, calibration for the material and condition of the car, and you have to be very careful because you can quickly go from cleaning leather to destroying it very quickly.

Most European cars are spayed with underbody wax at the end of the production line which collects dust and muck but stops corrosion, you’ve removed this which in a dry climate is fine, but in wet cold area all areas will oxidise and corrode, you do a cracking job in cleaning though

Can anyone please explain how dry ice cleaning works? What are the pros and cons? Does it clean everything as good as it shows on the video?
@kevinhization3 жыл бұрын
Constantine Hassiotis: Only pros, no cons. Dry Ice Cleaning melts the debris and virtually dissolves all of the residue, it does clean as it shows. I am talking about first hand experience because I used to clean printing presses for quite some time. The only thing is, you will have to recoat the parts you have cleaned. We used mineral spirits for reconditioning.
@dncviorel3 жыл бұрын
@@kevinhization cons too. Some say it removes the protection layers applied in the factory and also causing microcracks.
@kevinhization3 жыл бұрын
@@dncviorel No, dry ice cannot cause microcracks or pits. If the machine has pre existing conditions, then those materials may be too weak to be ice blasted. In all my experiences, none of these machines were impacted due to dry ice cleaning. As I have stated before, the machines always gets reconditioned.

Looks great but what is this like 3-4 grand? Dry ice here is a couple dollars a # and the hourly rate for a mechanic is 75-100 an hour. Even a detail specialist wouldnt be cheap. So 12-1600 for the labor, 1600 for the ice, plus whatever else they charge. There are other ways that are a lot less expensive. It does look nice though.

Yes that’s correct... we can remove dirt, grease/oil but we can change the surface... so we can’t remove oxidation, same with rust... we can remove surface rust (sometimes) but this machines is designed for cleaning.
