The amazing about this song particularly is that the tune is fully improvised, the composer only put the main theme, scale, rhythm, tempo and the Sheikh fully improvised the rest. Amazing voice i’ve heard the closest description for it as a “crystal chandelier”

A very very very special video. Sayed El Nakshabandi is definitely a reciter and religious singer who makes us get goose bumps. He is not just a great reciter and religious singer. He is also very deeply entrenched in our culture, especially that his voice reminds us of the best Ramadan days ever in the late 1960s (1969) until the 1980s despite the fact that he had died before in 1976. But his works and recitations were and are still heard, but now with a lot of nostalgia and longing for these great days of the past and Ramadan and the unrepeatable beautiful family gatherings during the great month of Ramadan. Thank you. A very special one.

I told you Egyptians used to do that since thousands of years , and Egyptians do have strong voices and overwhelming emotions that we deliver through that the lyrics and the voices and even the music and they really know what they are doing .. we do that with sincere love because we know that it delivers a lot of emotions , it’s a way of communication in Egypt ( inherited in us )

Actually, there is a story about this religious chant. It is that the late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat asked the genius composer Baligh Hamdi to compose such a melody for the sheikh. Sheikh Naqshbandi was surprised and refused to sing, but he agreed after hearing the beauty of this melody.

I love your choices, You make me rediscover our Egyptian gems all over again, and I thank you for it. And to answer your question on how come we have a lot of voices, Egypt is populous, which means numbers control the whole thing, we have so many people that come with so many tastes, Also it is a challenging environment to prove yourself and slight a singer or a composer from the rest.

Great video with another great voice. Thank you IJay. I know that in Egypt, the reciters used to learn the phonatics in a way similer to music studies. i know also that they mastering some techniques like sircular breathing. this is one of the reasons the Egyptian classic singers have a strong continious voices and clear pronuncations. they were usually started to learn that and figer-out the good talents in early ages when they start learn reading and reciting Quran at the mosque or "Kotab" Greetings

In Egypt we have a whole list of beautiful and unique voices, you’ve already reacted to many of the most talented and iconic ones like Um Kulthum, Mohammed Abdel Wahab, Abdel Halim, Sheikh Al Nakshabandy, Abdul Basset Abdel Samad … and you still have another voice from heaven which happens to be the voice of the famous and by far the best reciter Sheikh Mohammed Refaat. We also have other beautiful voices of singers like Laila Murad, Abdel Ghani El Sayed, Karem Mahmoud, Soaad Mohammed, and lots more.
