You are correct, he said lemon but was translated to orange by mistake. And when he says "cut his arteries" he could also mean cutting his path, road or destiny. Also in Arabic "arteries" could refer to source of the river, upper river. The meaning stays with the poet and leaves us to wonder what he meant or find a meaning for ourselves.

I'd like to say something, this poem is for Nizar Qabbani, in the original poem Nizar says "your body is my map" but Kazem changed it to be more suitable to the Arabic society back then , but now he started to sing it "your body is my map" not "your love" 😁

Yes in Iraq & Lebanon they named orange (lemon), but the small lemon that we all knows they're calling it hamid means ( sour ) , 17:29 the other part that says: I freed all my women, like Shahryar or Sultan who freed all his women (maids), It's a metaphor of loyalty.
