Kadim is one of the singers who performed songs based on poems, especially nezar alqabany's poems which mainly belonged to the romantic school, one of kadim's most famous and best performances a song named " at the school of love - في مدرسة الحب " İt was nezar's poeam and one of my all time favourites as well.

This is a masterpiece in contemporary arabic music.. The lyrics are taken from a poem by Hassan Al Marwani. The poem is said to be reflecting a true story that happened to the poet. Kadhim as extraordinary both as a singer and as a composer.. His performance is deeply impressive whether on stage or even in a studio.. He utilises his voice as well as his body language to convey the very emotions of the writer.

The part that you didn't understand about his ships that never sailed away meaning that his homeland abandoned him yet he's still couldn't wake up from the shock and move on.. couldn't sail from the port of the homeland that abandoned him. It's like his world is standing still while his whole homeland is moving away. BTW, Kadim is not only the singer, but he's the composer of this song music, and also the composer of most of the songs that he performed. He also composed some songs for other Arab singers as well.
