As a beginner motion designer and animator im falling in love with this software

CA5 is amazing. From animating characters with a few clicks of a button using their premade motion templates to animating digital art, static images/portraits from the web. As a musician content creator, I can see a lot of potential with this software on what videos I can make. You can even manipulate and animate PNG characters and objects which I did in one of my Omori videos. The only drawbacks about this software is the character creation part. There are no drawing tools as you will need to use an external drawing app which isn't much of a big deal to me. But if you plan to use your custom characters, keep in mind that there is a process in rigging them. Which can be tedious, but once you nail that down the possibilities of what you can create are endless. Yes, you can do frame by frame animation as well but I'd recommend putting them in a folder before importing them to CA5.

Reallusion software in general have improved vastly over the years. I just wish Cartoon Animator was more lineart friendly

The only problem : 360 degree only for the head not for the full body, plus the rigging process naming and cutting out the layers ( body parts) are really hard and annoying.

The rigging process is only a matter of naming your layers correctly. Theres really nothing more to it than that.

Anything that speeds up the animation process is welcomed. And the new Motion Pilot function makes animating so much fun. It’s more like acting than animating!

Is that how you refer to blender? Master of none! Or rather master of many….in my book. It depends on your mindset. Good one though!

There's some things that Blender can do that other applications can do better. Right now, in my opinion, Blender doesn't really have the greatest system to set up a 2d puppet rig with interpolated turnarounds. It's possible to do, but you are actually better off using something like Moho Studio or Cartoon Animator as they will do the job much faster. Hopefully in the future Grease Pencil 3.0 can be up to par (or better) when it comes to this aspect of 2d animation.

Are we can do a little more realistic rig character or Combin frame by frame work to make some moment more natural... somthig like anime character stuff

then Moho is your best bet, if thats what you want. Cartoon animator doesnt have frame by frame. And Moho recently upgraded their frame by frame engine and it feels good to draw in it. But if you really want cartoon animator and its features, then use a second software to do the frame by frame and somehow add it. Either way, Cartoon animator doesnt have frame by frame.

@@TheLuconic I agree that Alima would be better off with alternative software if their intention is to just do frame by frame traditional animation. However, that is still entirely possible in Cartoon Animator. BUt you would need to import each animation frame, having drawn it in other illustration software as CTA does not had a drawing function.

Im looking to hire some artists and I want them using this software. Can someone tell me how many minutes of animation I can expect out of an artist in an 8 hour day, as well, what if I had mo cap, then how many minutes a day?

Each person is different but for perspective. It takes a team of roughly 80 in total from storyboard to animators which for a smaller studio maybe 20 people and to make a 20 minute episode. Your looking at ten weeks. If it's a south park episode two people would take a week tops. So it comes to quality verse quantity.

Cartoon Animator doesnt have drawing tools because it relies on a puppet system of character rigging. THe beneift of not having a drawing function is that you can use your favourite software to create, and then bring it in to CTA to animate, rather than being limited by the softwares drawing capabilities.

Procreate Dreams doesn't even come out till late this November. CA5 has been around for almost a year. So no, far from rip off.

So what youre saying is, if one software has a feature, no one esle can have it? Then isnt Adobe Photoshops paint tool just a rip off of Microsoft Paint? Seems a bit limiting.

@@GarryPye No others can but it should only be reasonable we all know where it come from Layer = adobe, Eco system=Apple etc. Though companies like adobe go to extreme lenghts legally to make sure you can not like there snapping feature, smart objects and image selection 🙄.
