It's a "labor of love." Nothing feels quite as fulfilling, as something you've put your hands to, and pained over it's construction, and development. You're very meticulous, in nature. A quality needed for projects like these. It also requires a high level of patience, as you know. Something I'm lacking in greatly. I've been working with my hands for most of my life, and I've no where near the patience required to perform such a task. Great build and fun watching the progress of this timepiece! The amazing photography of the finished build is really first rate, and a joy to see the intricate details and viewpoints/perspectives inside the landscape of the watch. The shots and video show how deep and complex the architecture is of the insides under the glass! I think lots of the time I see the case and bracelet as forming the overall LOOK of a watch, with the hands. These tend to dominate the feel of most watches... but the tiny details inside the glass show how the camera sees so much more detail and allows a new perspective on this landscape.

Here’s a tip for installing bezel tape. Remove the center and leave the ring attached to the square its in a remove one side with it flat on a table and you get perfect application every time. Or if the outside is missing leave the middle and use the same technique. Works great.

Fair play that you're into watches, and I do like watches a lot too. But man, I just gotta say that you could probably talk about anything and I'd enjoy listening to it. You're very articulated, no fillers, and your personality shines. There's got to be some background or cross-pollination with another part of your life more than a niche KZbin channel, or are you simply a natural talent?
@ItsAnotherWatch Жыл бұрын
Thanks very much! I'm really glad that you think so! To answer your question I don't really know. I suppose I could attribute it to having done voice acting in the past, and being able to talk somewhat eloquently in spite of any incompetence I may display, or the fact that I had a Gaming channel in the past where I did long commentaries, and got better at it over time. But honestly, I'd say its probably because there is a LOT of content out there that is simply scripted and red from a teleprompter and I didn't want to do that. I wanted my videos to feel more natural, although it does result in more rambling and repeating myself, I think it has a much more personable flow to it where the viewer feels like they're being talked to rather than read to. So rather than scripting my videos, at most I remember points about what I'm discussing and speak off the cuff instead. That being said, I've had thoughts of scripting my videos for better consistency and structure, prevention of repetition and therefor making everything shorter. But rather than reading it directly, I would record a reading of it, and then listen to it while recording the on-camera stuff, and echo it more naturally while simultaneously listening since I am able to do that to a degree. But I haven't tried it yet.

I'm not sure. If that happened to me I'd assume that the stem is too short since its going out far enough to enter the date change state rather than the winding state. It could just be that you need a longer stem, and the ones you've tried were all a bit too short.

@ItsAnotherWatch2 жыл бұрын
Yeah you can get it pretty close to this, A dial and hand swap will get the inside looking close (although you'd need to get black calendar plates for the movement too since the heimdallrs come with white calendar discs) and swapping the bezel insert would make it look very close to this. An SKX171 dial with some aftermarket SKX007 hands from somewhere like namoki mods or crystal times (for lume to closely match the dial) will work out great. And heck if you're ok with the stock font of the SKX bezel, the default one the heimdallr comes with would look just fine. I mention this because the heimdallr's (at least the one i got over a year ago) had a different bezel retention method which was difficult to put back on, which would make changing the bezel insert a real pain.

Extra things like Gaskets, the bezel click ring and such arent linked there, but they're available on the namokimods website also if you want to grab everything in one place. The only difference with the NamokiMods NH36 is that it comes with black calendar plates with a Red Sunday, compared to the one from AliExpress that i got that is all white print. I hope this helps.
