Fixing the stiff ride in the dually. My dad has a 2013 Chevy 3500 dually and always complained about the stiff ride when he didn't have a trailer. I did a lot of research and ended up installing fox 2.0 shocks and sulastic springs as well for him. He loves the ride quality now both driving empty and hauling loaded 25k goosenecks. I drove it as well before and after... worth the investment!

AJ S you have a couple links to where you got this stuff? I have an 07 3500 dually and it rides alright with the firestone airbags going down the road but you hit a speed bump and it might be better with a solid fixed suspension 😂

@@chiefbeef2947 it is wheel hp and tqon a dyno also depends on the trans the truck has depends on the torque from factory Aisin trans option has the most torque out of all the trans options so another words the factory is a better tune with the Aisin trans it holds more torque and hp

Wanderluster that wouldn't change anything, these new trucks are engin load based, they limit power based on engine load. Drive it with out a trailer and then drive it with a load, you'll feel the extra power

Greg, black badges on the Sport Appearance aren't automatically part of the package. They aren't available on dually, only single rear if you get the black wheels. Black wheel = black badges, chrome wheels = chrome badges. Can't get dually with black wheels so....no black badges

I just got an 18 laramie with the blackout package (truck is maroon), the way the salesman described it to me as the duallys come with the chrome wheels so they get the chrome badging. The trucks that come with the black wheels (single wheel) get the black badges

The reason your tire pressure were like that is the dealership is suppose to do a PDI and take all the plastic off and set tire pressures. They come from factory like that from my understanding to prevent flat spotting of the tires from sitting.

Pirateofthesage passenger cars are typically shipped with 50-60psi which is higher than the normal "44psi max" that passenger car tires have on the side wall. Tire pressure is adjusted during the PDI and he asked them not to PDI his truck so it's not the dealer's problem.

I agree, 80 fronts, 65 rears.. I will run my rears lower if not towing. Watch your front tires... the older 4th gen duallys woukd eat off the outside edge of the tread due to too much toe-in... I had to have mine bumped way down, below the factory specs even.

A easier and safer way to take badges off of new vehicle use a hair dryer to heat it up hold 2- 4 inches away for just a few minute and they will peal off and the glue and rubber backed very easy no chance of scratching the paint. I have done more than once work great!

I'm pretty sure the factory over inflates the tires, when the vehicle shows up to the dealership the mechanics are supposed to let air out and set them to the proper psi as part of the prep but you didn't haven them touch it or prep it when it showed up lol so that might be why the tires were set at 100 haha

Diesels don’t need a mountain of hp to do the job. Plenty of stuff was moved with the old 12v Cummins and they didn’t make a whole hell of a lot of hp. The only thing I care about in a diesel is tq, and tq alone. All HP does is cause a negative affect on my MPG 😂

Truck claims 385/930 Looks like its losing 25% to the wheels in the hp department but the torque is around 33% loss. Seems low, would have expected low 700awtq. I have some truck mines shitting out at 6000miles

For 2018, the sport appearance group does not determine whether you get chrome or black badges. Wheels are what determines chrome or black badges. You can only get black badges if you get black wheels. And as of 2018, you cannot get black dually wheels, only polished aluminum ones. You can only get black badges with the black wheel SRW trucks. To summarize and repeat, the reason that his badges are chrome is because he got a dually, which only comes with polished aluminum wheels.

If those are lovebug remains on the truck try used Bounce dryer sheets... wet the truck and wipe gently with the dryer sheet and abracapocus no more lovebugs! If it's other bugs you're on your own... good luck. LoL

The power number is roughly normal. The torque is a bit low, but that is only because it is very difficult to get the fuel and boost to hit peak on a chassis dyno down where the Cummins hits actual peak torque. On an engine dyno they can just hold the engine there and read it. If you could go flat in from say 1000 rpm to have full spool by 1600-1800 with converter lock and get a reading you would see more like around 700. It just isn't that easy though. Yours makes more than you are seeing but it just isn't as easy as it sounds to get a true peak torque reading on them since it happens so low. Even the guys at ATS who do the Diesel Power Challenge will tell you it is very difficult. I have a dyno in my shop as well so I'm not just spitting this out for fun. I am a GM guy, but really appreciate all brands and I don't knock someone's ride because it is a different brand. A true car guy loves them all or damn near all.

What rpm did they start the pull? Unlike ford you can't keep the rams from down shifting so you have to start your pull higher in the rpm range to keep it in the desired gear. When I dynoed my 21 we started at about 2000 rmps. But most the power comes in sooner then that I feel. So seems to me we're not able to get a true power reading on the Rams.
