Fiona with the Parry is so fun, I do wish they make the sound more eargasm. Almost managed to get Gnoll with no damage, very fun playtest cant wait for the full thing! Amazing as always Ongbal!

right?? im like looking at this and it definitely looks fun but i just think back to sekiro and elden ring and while being way slower and maybe even less fluid combat in elden ring is so much more satisfying to me

Looks like you could choose between dodge and parry. But the bosses’ health bar damage seems kinda spongy, I hope they improve the sound fx as well.

You have to take into consideration the fact that there's no stamina bar in Vindi 2, they had to scale stuff with stamina in incorporate that somehow that's why difficulty wise it fell off after that one Crucial update in vindictus 1, the HP here is alot because you can attack forever kinda thing, I'm getting like seikro vibes as far as the gameplay loop, or like in that area with parrying and stuff, with how popular souls like games are nowadays, I wouldn't be surprised if that's some of the inspiration here.

I grew up playing one of Nexon's original MMOs, Mabinogi (which the original Vindictus story was based on), where there was recently an announcement that it was in the process of being updated to the Unreal Engine, something many of us OG players have been wishing for a long time now. To hear that, and then see this new Vindictus title with how amazing it looks even in pre-alpha, it's almost unfathomable. I also played the Vindictus MMO when it came out, though to much less of a degree. I'm surprised they didn't choose to go a similar route with just updating it to Unreal Engine honestly. Not sure how I feel about Defying Fate being a single player standalone, but I know I will 100% be playing it regardless. Thanks for the content on such a niche title (and hopefully a hidden gem, only time will tell)!

I have fond memories of Vindictus from over a decade ago (though how I did that combat with a keyboard, I can't remember). I'll look forward to playing it with a controller this time, and with my favourite character still there as well.

Wow nice music and the second boss was really cool! Idk wether you used a weak weapon but for the number of attacks I think the bosses have a bit too much health. Those colorful telegraphs are incredible though

This looks like a decent soulslike, the first boss seemed to be a tutorial boss? While the 2nd boss has the cooler moveset. Also that sound effect for blunt attacks kinda made me smile, the whack sound feels so familiar.

Well the characters look good and the cool-down abilities seem interesting. A bit annoyed that the the second boss has a block move while it's the gnoll equipped with a buckler. Imagine if they toned down the HP a bit while giving the gnoll the ability to roll evasively, block, and maybe even parry.

Not sure if it's just me, but that second boss, Emuloch, really reminds me of the Boreal Brutes from Code Vein, just without the spin dash or the ice armor. The gameplay definitely looked interesting, though.

I only ever played Vindictus for a short while back in 2015, but I really enjoyed my time with it and with Hurk, powering through attacks with his shoulder bash and counter attacking was an awesome feeling, and gathering up mobs on my sword and slamming them into the ground was always a good laugh. Good to see it's coming back, hopefully it comes to console though I don't have a PC anymore. Cheers for the video Ongbal great showcase as always (￣∀￣)ノ

I hope they'll add the Dark knight and Paladin mechanic and make it more like an actual devil trigger esque transformation and not some long cooldown ability that takes 3 hours to use again.

Wow this brings back so much memories playing the original. I remember learning the dodge timings for Lann in the season 1 endgame raids and being basically unkillable. I did see a lot of familiar animations though - wondering if the keypresses will be the same as well.

It may look more easier for Ongbal but this feels more "rhythmic" than other souls-like. Will give this a try!

The 'yellow' smash attack can be blocked by Fiona using heavy guard (heavy stander) but since this is a no damage boss fight...

I feel like they need to adjust the power level a little bit. It feels like a DS1 boss with triple health vs. sekiro protag but with paper cutter. But since this is pre-alpha they're sure to adjust it.

Obviously, it's Ongbal, but that lock-on dodge seems OP 😅 it moves you almost 90 degrees! Or maybe I'm just traumatized by the delayed homing missile attacks in Elden Ring 😂
