I don’t get couples who decide to become parents and expect their baby to come out a certain way. Like they want them to be able-bodied, a certain gender, disease-free, mentally healthy, basically have no issues, etc…. Like if you’re having kids cuz you think they’re just gonna be perfect with no issues, you’re selfish and delusional ! It’s not up to you what your child is gonna be like, you have to accept the reality that your kid may be the gender you don’t want, or may have a disease or other health related issues, AND ultimately is gonna grow into their own person. And you, as a parent, need to love and accept them unconditionally. You don’t just get to throw them aside if they have something-or are something- you don’t like. Long ass rant but this stuff just irks me so bad.

Birth trauma caused by medical staff story time! When I went into labour with my first child the nurses in the maternity ward told me to go back home because "if you can stand and talk then you're not in labour" and "if the waters haven't broken then it's a long way yet". I kept telling them I can FEEL THE HEAD PUSHING OUT BETWEEN MY LEGS and they laughed in my face because "if you still have jeans on then you can't know". Eventually I screamed at them and threatened to lie down on the floor in the corridor and give birth there and then and only then did they begrudgingly admit me into a birthing room. My husband had to undress me because we were left alone and I couldn't bend over from the pain and after I had screamed in pain for a whole minute another nurse came in and told me off for making a scene as she looked between my legs and sounded the alarm. Turned out the baby WAS already crowning and he was still in the sac (hence no bursting waters) AND he was stuck in the birth canal. A very deep cut and a pump later he was out and safe and I was both RAGING FURIOUS at the staff and RAGING HAPPY to have him in my arms, safe and sound. I don't fucking care if you have "empathy fatigue" or whatever, you're treating women in the most vulnerable time of their lives, either suck it up or change jobs.

in India gender reveals are banned. Doctors are legally obligated to not tell the parents the gender of the child. it was mainly implemented due to female infanticide (abortion because of female baby) but I think it takes away the emotional burden aspect as well. The main focus during the pregnancy is on the health of the child and the parents learn how to raise both girls and boys. They can wish for a gender but they are prepared for any outcome.

I really like to see doctors and such on tiktok, talking about certain procedures or how they manage to do their day to day things, or about their mental health. What I hate is seeing this health professionals that seemed to have forgotten they are taking care of people, and how complex a person is. I remember a tiktok of a nurse ou doctor, I don't remember, but not relevant, showing how disgusted she feels whenever a patient comes in with a tampon that is stuck for a long time. That's literally the worst thing you can do, you study so many years to take care of people for then doing that? That annoyed me because people are already afraid of going to the doctor, and doctors on tiktok that are friendly and such are great, but those kind of people just make others beings afraid of being judged in a doctors office. On the note of the Kardashians and culture appropriation, I personally as a black mixed race woman, thought it was fine that Kim wore cornrows UNTIL she called it ✨aesthetic✨ and ✨trendy✨ then called them boxer braids, then credited a white girl for making them ✨cool✨. I perfectly would have understood if she just wore the cornrows to honour Kanye’s heritage and culture but she dropped the ball. Cornrows are for everyone but if you cannot treat them and the culture with the respect then that is culture appropriation, not appreciation. I come from Canada/Jamaica and the culture is very different here. Anyone can wear cornrows or any other style cause they have basic manners and want to respect the culture. All I have to say though is she did better then Kylie who put “white girls do it better” in her caption for a picture of wearing cornrows. 🤦🏽‍♀️

7:57 this!! I'm doing a Master's Degree on Music Industry and basically every person in the field that gives lectures to us says that nowadays agencies and record labels don't listen to demos anymore except if you have connections. What they do instead is look up what's going viral in social media and streaming platforms and if they happen to be independent they try to sign them. It's really disheartening for me because I knew I could have a shot at a music career if I made nursery rhymes type songs but I just don't want to 😭

16:13 YESS EXACTLY!!! A nurse a was disrespectful and was soo “bothered” when I was in labor with my first child and I suffer from Epilepsy so the doctors knew I was at a high risk. The day I was about to give birth I threw up my seizure medication and had a muscle spasm and I asked the nurse please give me a heat pack and she said no one was outside the room to get it and she didn’t knew where it was and would never check how much I was dilated. After me complaining soo much she finally checked and I was 9cm dilated. And when the doctor had to check another woman whom was also going into labor the nurse was putting some oil without consent or even asking the doctor (idk what oil but it wasn’t from the hospital it was like her own personal oil) the nurse would get frustrated complaining to the doctor as in “why do I gotta clean her” while I was trying to push my daughter. And after I finally gave birth the nurse was disgusted with the blood and fainted and had to be taken to the ER down stairs while on the clock. And when she fainted all the doctors came in and asked her if she had seizures just because I have them like bruh it’s not contagious wth?! AND the nurse literally told me “Can you stop screaming?!” When I was literally in pain pushing my baby out like bruh are you serious??

As someone who gave birth 18 months ago, the way those nurses dismissed those women is so gross to me. As Salem said, having a baby is insanely rough on the body - it's painful and frightening, especially the first time when you haven't had this feeling before and you don't know how long it will last. Thankfully, my midwives were generally pretty good, though I had one who was a little gruff. I maintain we need more education on the experience of birth and to push greater empathy for female pain among the medical profession

My mom had actually a really bad experience while giving birth to me. She had serious problems and the nurses and doctor didn’t assist her for like the first 26 hours. They basically showed up for the last two hours. My grandma and dad were there to help the entire time. After I was born the doctor decided to run a bunch of tests on me, what turned out was only made since the doctor that was suppose to assist my mom, was writing her doctoral thesis on baby’s with genetic problems. While I was tested for 14 days my mom got her bed taken away, because “her things weren’t there anymore”, when they clearly were all in the closet and a bag was there as well. She had to sleep on chairs for a couple days and they gave her a new bed then. Luckily I was a healthy born baby, so they didn’t found anything

Please make a video about the unprofessionalism of doing tik toks at work. If I found any inkling of my story, circumstance or health history on a nurse’s tik tok, I’d be going to a nurses association or governing body to report said nurse. It’s difficult enough in some health settings to get privacy or confidentiality so nurses don’t need to be sharing or venting on TikTok. If I’m hospitalized, I’m at my lowest and I don’t need to be taken advantage of for content. Plus, in my hospital, there are signs saying no video taping.

You are so precious.. (in a good way). Like you say what you think, you say what people need to heard and not bullshit we want to heard. I like your personallity, your themes videos, your mimics, your style. I really do like listen to you, you bring some real themes, real ideas, real conversations. Thank you for that Salem.

Thank u so much for your message at the end of the video, I really needed to hear this. I've been really disappointed at myself for only doing the bare minimum, and that made me feel useless, I strugle to accept that I don't need to be doing amazing things to be considered someone valueble. I'll also be here sending good energy for you and I hope this year is full of peace

You're always so pretty in all of your videos but your whole look is so on point in this one! You straight up had me blushing when you smiled at the camera and said you love your chubby cheeks. It was adorable lol

im studying to be a nurse and some things that you really CANT do are: give "advice" without knowing a person's diagnose and all that, film patients and the workplace and talk about patients and their stories onlines. these are all big no's. i might be wrong but i think its actually illegal

My 2022 was actually not bad. I got a diagnosis for a condition I've had my whole life and I've always wondered what was wrong with me. I also had 2 surgeries, and started a treatment for the condition I was diagnosed with in January, and it's actually helped sooo much. I have Cyclic vomiting syndrome, and I used to have atleast one episode a month that would last for days. But ever since I started treatment for it, I've only had 4 episodes, and none of them lasted longer than a day. I've had a lot of times where I feel like I'm about to have an episode, but it just never comes. So thats kinda annoying, but it's way better than having an episode. So 2022 was actually pretty good to me🤷‍♀️
