I just felt sad for Basim at the end of it all. The two mixing into one was supposed to be them merging, I believe, but I think in the end Loki ended up just outweighing him. The way he mocking laid “Mentor” after just talking about all he had given for the Creed, how his bird rejected him, it felt like Basim was gone.
@Ozzie_Mandias Жыл бұрын
I am actually happy that Basim is erased from existence... I now know I was never a fan of Baism, I was a fan of Loki inhabiting Basim's body. The charm and wit which made me fall in love with the character in Valhalla was Loki, not Basim.
@sicutestunda Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I wish they'd just completed each other. But the "mentor", the bird scratch, Roshan losing him just like she feared, not to mention Basim's smirk when Enkidu scratched him, it all broke my heart. He said his jinni wanted revenge but he himself just wants peace. But then, at the end, he pretty much swore vengeance on those who imprisoned him. This was sad af.

IGN gave some clarity that when nehzal (Loki) fused with basim he technically fused his memories into basim so he can be fully reincarnated he took his mind but it’s still basims body ofc and that’s why his bird rejected Basim because it’s not him no more it’s Loki and when he technically says that he’s gonna crush everyone in his way and he’s come to terms with his past (the events that happened to Loki the torture the imprisonment etc) and he can’t wait for their reunion he is talking about the start of the adventure towards Valhalla which is years later. When he decides to go after the reincarnation of Odin. Who sentenced Loki to the binding in greek mythology terms for killing baldr which im guessing it didn’t happen in the dlc so I’m just guessing on that because I don’t remember the dlc much but it did happen behind closed doors if that’s the case because if you remember Loki escaped his prison before the first calamity and killed heimdall and then put the mask so he can be reincarnated so boom which starts Mirage many years after that. Then Valhalla. All I see is people complaining but not putting the pieces together this has been assassins creed for ages it’s a WHOLE PUZZLE and if it doesn’t make sense you gotta try and figure it out that’s an AC game and I’m disappointed in my fellow OG fans because y’all should know this by now they are not gonna give you the answers on a silver platter.. you gotta put it together put the events in order and make sense of what’s going on. it’s not a standalone game it’s part of the time line and it connects with the main story and they clearly put it in our face.

Wasn’t it described as a cell and didn’t Odin inprison Loki for killing Baldr in Dawn of Ragnarok
@sriramvarma1118 Жыл бұрын
Loki doesn't hate Odin because Odin tortures him. That came after Baldr's death (and Loki knew that would provoke Odin). He hates Odin because Odin killed his son (but they didn't mention how in AC). The torture came after Loki kills baldr in retaliation. But there was no mention of Loki's son. Moreover, in the end, he said he beat his jinni and came to terms with his past. If that was really so, why even go to Europe and try to kill eivor? This game made no sense and skipped many crucial moments. Definitely disappointed in this (and I'm an OG fan that played ALL the assassin's creed games)
@ary_o_ Жыл бұрын
@@sriramvarma1118 loki's son is fenrir, who odin kills in asgard stroyline in valhalla. i think his jinni was odin, he beat him and came in terms with loki ( his past ) . now basim and loki are bound together hence why enkidu scrates basim because its not him alone. He goes to europe to find odin's incarnation which i think at first he thoughts is sigurd which explains why he was hyping him through out whole valhalla but in the end it turns out to be evior. On the other side evior im not sure but he refuses to bind with odin and live out his life as his own which i dont remember much but we see in the end off valhalla. Basim/loki made a bond with evior hence why he wanted to see what happens to evior after he refuses to merge with odin. Evior and Basim are both incarnation of odin and loki, the only diff is basim merges with loki but evior dosent with odin. Thank you! I enjoyed the game but was a bit confused by the ending as I played through it. This explanation covers it completely! Wonderful game! The story, now that I understand what happened at the end, is one of my favorite AC stories as a story. What I maybe criticise is the way they unfolded the story, where parts of it seemed rushed or just crammed into a much shorter game time. I think a slightly longer drawing out of the story to let it breathe or more varied side content would have made the game absolutely perfect. 8.5/10 for me.

My biggest question is why did it seem like Basim let Loki take over??? You would think he would fight back or resist like Evior did with Odin but it seems like Basim accepted this and let Loki take full control. And is Basim gone forever or is he in there somewhere still?? I'm sorry but if I was Basim I would try my best to not let that happen. Me and Loki can share memories or whatever but I'm not finna just let him take over my body and live my life. 🤷🏽♂️
@freakmix2045 Жыл бұрын
Loki takes over because Loki is already somewhat a part of Basim. It’s the reason why he has those nightmares of the Jinni who is supposed to be Eivor but because Basim doesn’t know Eivor, he instead just sees a Jinni as that’s what if I’m correct Muslims believe in. So after Basim sees it was him being tortured in the hologram, he understands the Jinni is nothing more than memories so to stop those nightmares and visions, Basim had to make peace with those memories and since Nehal is a representation of Loki’s consciousness, they intertwine and Loki takes over. Basim doesn’t completely have a choice because since he doesn’t know the context of those nightmares, he just wanted them to end no matter what. I hope this helps 👍
@jaustoncarter8995 Жыл бұрын
@@freakmix2045 I understand alot more now. It's honestly sad tho because yeah the nightmares are gone but Basim also lost himself in the process. I wonder if Basim is still in there somewhere or Loki took over completely and Basim is gone forever. I see why Roshan was tryna stop Basim from finding out the truth. She was trying to save him so he wouldn't lose himself. And I understand why she left the Assassin's. Because she trained and had a bond/friendship with Basim, not Loki. To me it all seemed like a trick by Loki so he can control. And honestly it was a smart move from Loki by disguising himself as Nehal. If Loki would've talked to Basim as himself then Basim wouldn't have trusted him right away.

In my opinion the ending is actually sad, Basim was living with Loki's subconsciousness as his friend and the side he kept at bay only to find out that Nehal was only "A part of his reality". Also I think that after Loki got in the reincarnation chamber, killed the one guy as seen in Valhalla he got imprisoned in the "coffin" from the ending of Mirage by, MAYBE Tyr and later got killed by, I THINK Odin as this would make sense to why he wanted to kill Eivor and Sigurd in Valhalla. This is just a theory it probably don't make much sense but.....could it be that the sarcophagus is actually a type of Animus? Perhaps basim was in the Animus the whole time and the whole game is just his memories and the assassins put him in it to help him understand why the jinn was haunting him and in the Animus is where he discovers the truth about his past life as loki. I know this theory doesn't make a lot of sense because when he came out Roshan is still there but when he saw nehal in the machine she was locked in almost like a test subject and after they merge basim gasps as if he exited the simulation and finally when he comes out he's like how long has it been and there are assassin's waiting on him and one of the assassins looks like hytham but one of the side missions you actually have the opportunity to meet hytham but he's only like 10 years old at the time

I'm on my second playthrough to pick up the pieces on how everything is Basim's doing and Nehal is just a figure in his mind. And what I found is that Nehal (Loki) didn't even remember bout the ISU stuff until Basim touch the artifact. I think its because of the moment during Ragnarok, Loki forced himself into the Idrisil (the super computer) by killing one of the member and I think it distrupts the transfer so it make the incarnated Loki (Nehal) kinda forget the reason why she's being reincarnated. So after Basim went to Alamut to be initiated as a Hidden Ones, there is this kind of barrier where it separates Basim, The Djin and Nehal. Maybe bcuz of the Chamber below the Alamut Temple it distrupts the connection with Loki. (I might be wrong on this) And after Basim went back to Baghdad and meet Nehal, she's being guiding Basim to search for Answers bout the ISU, answers that is not for him but for HER. Basim helping Nehal to uncover the real secrets and slowly Nehal remember the things happen tk her subconsciously. One of it was when they are at the ISU Chamber and there is this weird interaction between Basim and Nehal where she said "I do" and "I remember" making Basim freak out. And finally in the end when Basim said "will I ever see you again" is indicating that Basim surrenders his body fully to Nehal and Killing him in the process. Nehal seem so pure Innocent during this scene maybe bcuz she want to take control without force. Unlike Eivor, Odin forces himself to control and influence Eivor. "How long has it been" is the first words of reincarnated Loki.

i think the jinni and Nehal are one and the same thing. look at the jinni's clothing, the rags and ESPECIALLY the headband/head-covering. now, look at Nehal's character designs. if we're thinking Loki was Nehal then the jinni was Loki as well. probably trying to connect with Basim who had juuust enough Isu DNA to support Loki and give him a form of his former power and lifespan as an Isu. of course, we're familiar with the Isu third strand of DNA all the AC games have been hinting at since game 1 back in 2007. i think Basim was merely one of the DESCENDANTS of human/Isu hybrid kids on Earth that survived the FIRST Coronal Mass event. Basim's nightmares and hallucinations of Nehal were merely a byproduct of Loki/Nehal's influence trying to steer Basim towards Loki's prison in Alamut. my theory is that Loki/Nehal may have put some of his consciousness inside his prison cell's Isu technology. therefore, the guard that Basim mistakes as the jinni killing him/Nehal/Loki was actually PREVENTING Loki from completing the same TWO consciousness transfers that Juno successfully completed. this is supported by the following bits of Isu lore Wizzo left out. the Isu Juno remained in the Grand Temple with Jupiter and Minerva to sort through the possible solutions to the First Coronal Mass event and test those that they found encouraging. they evaluated six in succession, finding each progressively more promising but all were ultimately dead ends. one of the Grand Experiments the Isu performed to hopefully survive the 1st Coronal Mass event was to transfer their minds into synthetic/android bodies, this one was a failure. Juno secretly devised another plan to digitize the Isu minds so their consciousnesses would survive in the underground Temples scattered around the world. the Temples are connected by a 'computer network' mentioned as Yggdrasil in this video. Juno stuck HERSELF into the central Grand Temple in New York State that Desmond Miles et. al. in AC 2-4 discovered, repaired, and released her into the internet as a result of ANOTHER Great Experiment device the Isu developed. this one Desmond sacrifices his life to activate, the Global Aurora Borealis Device. the Isu plan thousands upon thousands of years ago was the GABD would deploy a planetary magnetic shield that would deflect the Solar flare. however, there was neither the time to build the GABD nor the power needed to use it before the FIRST Coronal Mass Ejection event, and so it was abandoned. however, an automated construction process was used to build the Towers that would eventually see the NY State Grand Temple connected with the Towers and the entire GABD was completed and activated by the time of the Second Disaster in 2012. so, Loki put some of his mind into his prison cell and completed (PERHAPS partially) Juno's first Great Experiment and then transferred his mind into Basim completing Juno's second Great Experiment.

I truly loved the games. Despite what others say, I'm obsessed with Valhalla (mostly for Basim and Hytham....Haytham Kenway's namesake). I think Basim is a great "protagonist" but he's a far better villain in my opinion. His character blurs the lines between good and evil. He's not a bad dude. He just wanted revenge and he got it. WHAT I HATE. Is Valhalla takes Norse faith (I'm a norse pagan) and skews it. Odin and Loki were technically brothers but most of that crap never happened in the eddas. They just took what they liked and made it their own. Great story but kinda disrespectful. Anyways...I really loved the game. @@haseebhassan8207 it's a 15 - 20-hour game for the main story. I personally prefer it that way aa opposed to the over 50 hours that Valhalla was. It was a good game but i didn't finish it for probably at least a year after I got it because it was so long I lost interest halfway through the game. mirage may have felt a little short when compared to some of the more recent ones, but it seems like most AC games before Origins were also around 15 hours. Overall, Mirage was a great game and a huge step in the right direction for the franchise. It really takes me back to around AC 3 and 4 especially when you change the controls to be similar to those ones.

Tbh the whole of Valhalla, and Mirage is one elaborate revenge plot with the Isu, and not really anything to do with the Assassins and Templar struggle I'm wondering Basim's future role in the Assassins, and how he operates with the others, William Miles assassin cell etc Guess we'll just have to wait for AC Japan, but I have no idea where the whole Assassins v Templar plot is at anymore. You think they would just team up and take out the Isu, they seem to be the real masterminds and anti-human

@@jman3081from what I’ve seen others say, I think this is almost the case. Idk for sure but: Basim is the reincarnation of Loki, and what happened to Loki in the past is represented as the Jinni in Basims dream (basically haunted by what happened in his past life but can’t remember the details). Nehal is a part of Basim that’s also sort of locked away in his mind and I’ve seen people say she is Loki guiding Basim (Loki using his shapeshifting ability to talk to Basim, like Odin did with Eivor but without the ability to hide his true self) I’m probably wrong because every year I forget the AC lore lol

First fans have wanted an original game. I absolutely love the epic new games: Odyssey, Origins, and Valhalla. I started with AC3. I don’t miss the clunking around. The parkour was fun but I don’t like being forced to do it. This dlc for Valhalla became a game. It feels like the interns did it. Given that Basim reps the Sage too, it could have been another epic albeit nostalgic clunker. The combat is meaningless. Just assassinate. Great recap!! Should have started with that. In Norse mythology, Loki did something so offensive that the gods imprisoned him and tied him down. If I remember correctly, the venom from the world snake dripped onto his head or eyes, driving him crazy causing him to thrash wildly. I feel like this story didn't progress the main story at all... this is just prequel, and for someone who wants to know more about the present day Basim, and the present day Assassins, this story feels like a waste to be told as "the next big AC game" format, they could easily put this story in smaller AC projects similar to AC China, India, and Rusia. Gameplaywise sure they brought back some of the older elements, it's a mix between old and new AC games, and I enjoyed that aspect. But storywise it's rather pointless because it's going nowhere. Heck even the Prequel trilogy (Origin, Odyssey, Valhalla) takes us forward in terms of present day story, in fact I'm intrigued by the continuation, it just baffles me that we had to wait another YEARS to know what happened after AC Valhalla.

So what Loki says in Isu language is literally what Nehal says when Basim sees her inside of the machine which is “Enough! Let me out of here!”. Also the “coffin” that you discover is not Yggdrasil. Yggdrasil is what you can see Isu using in Valhalla to pass down their genetic codes to humanity to be reborn, also the device you see Layla discover in the temple at the end, the coffin is most likely just a cage or a torture device for Loki. There was nothing inside at the time Basim has opened it, it only served as yet another trigger for Loki’s repressed memories which he finally embraced thus got fully reborn as opposed to Eivor in Valhalla who resisted Odin’s attemts to take over.
