A really easy way to take out several targets at once is to leave the TGP as SOI, fly VERY high and VERY slow. As soon as you're in the max drop range, drop the first, slew to your next target, lock it up, and drop again before you're past the minimum drop distance.

You can also set waypoints with the TGP. Then set the HUD as SOI and switch between the waypoints the same way you switch between nav points. That way you can drop, switch, drop, switch, ect. without worrying about having to slew.

I'm trying to do the guided munitions tutorial now... I can drop the LGMs no problem, but when I swap to the IAMs the reticule just doesn't show up. I can see the plumb line fine but no reticule at all :(

@Grim Reapers A question! I was wondering if you could tell if the boxed crosshairs on the TGP MFCD Right it says 39M in lower right corner @ 10:32. Does that mean that one of those dashes inside the box represents 39Meters or roughly 125 feet? So you can use that as a reference for how far apart you might want to space your ripple during weapon release? Thanks guys!

Cap , you forgot to press NWS button to laze the target before creating the SPI. This gets an accurate distance to the target and firms up the GPS co-ords and stop the bomb from overshooting the target

Answer: You have to wait until the bombs aligned. It takes them longer than the EGI to align but they do. You have time to listen to Danger Zone once before they do

I used to be able to rely on the GBU-38, but something got really screwed-up in the latest releases of both World 2.5 and 2.5.6 where this bomb simply won't land on its target -- at least according to the instructions presented here anyway. As of this date, it fails over 90% of the time when flying the A-10C. That pretty much ruins any of the DCS canned missions that rely on it. Eagle Dynamics really destroys their product if they cannot get their weapons to work right. The planes and terrain are pretty though.

Cap if you knew the coordinates like a building could you put it into the bombs or does it need to be designated by the aircraft?

john rich yep can set up waypoints on the ground. Simplest way to do that is in the mission editor and select the waypoint with your HUD as SOI. Slaving all sensors to that SPI to check the point with the TGP is pretty handy too. Can also do it from the air via a JTAC but well I haven't figured that out very well.

Yes you can by using the CDU. Switch to Markpoint . Insert your co-ords into MK1. Make that MK a SPI . Then drop in range

You can set a WP in the mission editor - but remember to include the altitude (cursor over target - read altitude). Make the WP to Steer Point, China hat AFT long - make that SPI, TMS UP long - slave all sensors to SPI, China hat FORW long - lock on target, TMS UP short.

cmibm fastest way to do that is set it to zero and the editor will convert from sea level to the actual AGL at that point.

Then you should drop LGBs (GBU-10 or -12). You then paint the moving target with laser and the bomb follows.

Once the bomb leaves the pylon it can no longer get target coordinate updates. It will hit where the target was when you released the bomb. As Dagi said for moving targets you are better off using laser guided.

The GBU 31v3 is made with a BLU-109 bomb body. Unlike the MK-84, it does not have a nose fuse. I.Y.A.A.Y.A.S.
