I really hope this pistol turns out to be very good. This thing has the potential to be a game changer.
@SuperTrb02 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately it doesn’t live up to the hype. The trigger was terrible. I’m not sure why but at $1,700 to $3,000, that alone is unacceptable. I also question its long term durability. I’d really like to see some hard use testing. I get the impression parts breakages are going to be a thing and when you have a gun full of proprietary parts, that is a problem. It reminds me of the Hudson pistols, lots of marketing, not much substance.

Let me say that this gun looks amazing and will probably be an awesome firearm. I plan on buying one when they become available. I am being critical of the company because it needs work. Their presentation to the public seems lacking. Their website was blank on the first day of Shot Show which is a big no no in 2023. Your website is your company and if yours is blank it doesn't inspire confidence(they did update it with an info sheet but that still a bit underwhelming). They said Initially on day one of the show they would be launching in May, but now it's late May early June according to them as stated in another video from their booth. They've said that what we are looking at is a 95 percent finished prototype. So you mean to tell me that you are gonna finish the prototype, finalize all the design elements, start manufacturing and assembly; all while having a reasonable number of guns to sell when you officially start selling this gun by May or June. I'm not saying it's not possible but the cumulation of statements made in all the videos I've watched make it seem like they are flying by the seat of their pants rather than having a development timeline. Not to make a pun but don’t shoot yourself in the foot by not being realistic with your possible new customers. If the gun isn’t going to be available till november to the mass of people that really want to buy your product then just say that. No one would be upset waiting but if you tell us late May early June and don’t deliver it's another story. I want them to succeed and regardless of me being keyboard warrior say all this on the internet I’m sure they will. Hopefully I can provide some no bullshit honest feedback though..

I love ALMOST everything about this. Common magazine compatibility (obviously we’d all prefer Glock mags, but p320 mags are solid, widely available, still MUCH cheaper than 2011 mags and are likely to drop in price as more people get into making them), simplified takedown, fully ambidextrous, optics ready (kind of a given in 2023, but still good to see they’re not foregoing it), eliminating the grip safety, the potential to use a standard 2011 slide on their lower (though I’m a bit wary of that “with a bit of work” part), all terrific decisions IMHO. The points I’m more iffy on- the price (granted, it’s in the double stack 1911 segment of the market, so it’s not crazy, but for a newcomer we’ve never heard of, with unknown quality control and reliability… I’m a bit hesitant) and proprietary parts (they were smart enough to keep the trigger standard, but I still prefer the flexibility of standardized parts for replacement or repair. And hopefully on a $1700+ gun, the trigger is good enough that most of us wouldn’t WANT to change it). Fingers crossed the launch goes well and they’re well made. It has strong potential to be a GREAT pistol (definitely the product I’m most interested in from SHOT show so far) and if this is any indication of what Oracle brings to the table, I hope this is a huge success for them. I’d love to see what else they can do down the road. But we’ll see what reviews say when it comes out.
@Glock7eventeen2 жыл бұрын
P320 mags are much better than Glock mags. The only reason why people like Glock mags is because it’s cheap and you can find them for $20. P320 mags cost around $50, still expensive but way cheaper than 2011 mags.

@MarkBadia2 жыл бұрын
Since they were changing the mechanism to break down the pistol why couldn’t they have made it a captive pin so if you were field stripping you don’t run the risk of misplacing that retention pin. Also add about the 57 second mark, there’s a view of the pistol with the slide locked back. The barrel seems really straight for a 1911. Does it not use the browning tilting barrel operating model?

These seem like they could be really good guns. They’re based around a reliable magazine design. The interchangeable polymer and aluminum grip modules sound cool. If the guns work reliably, they could be some serious competition for Staccato. One of the biggest complaints you see with 2011’s is the magazines. The magazines don’t run reliably and they’re hella expensive. This could be a solution to that problem. The price tiers are good too. Now, all they have to do is make sure they make the guns available and produce enough to meet demand and they’ll be golden.

@ChucksSEADnDEAD2 жыл бұрын
The older grip safety was more prone to not engage, so enlarged beavertails became common aftermarket mods and eventually factory parts. If you have a textbook grip you'll never fail to engage it, if you have to whip it out in an emergency and grip it with subpar form, you may fail to press it down. In the old days dudes would tape down the grip safety to always have it deactivated.
